I haven't been listening to much talkRADIO apart from Iain and Jon, but would I be right in saying that the volume of callers on other shows is still very low or non-existent?”

There is a ban tomorrow

They could have been talking about it all show if he'd wanted them to all he would have needed to do was have added a degree of balance, i,e. had a mix of callers some 'In' and some 'Out'.

Nevertheless I am glad he kept the show clear of it, I've been very interested in following the referendum on all the other radio stations and on TV but it's been nice to get away from it late at night and have something to make me smile and laugh. Iain Lee is an interesting character to listen to, sometimes bordering on the insane but always compulsive listening once you've got into the show. Couple this with some of the funniest callers anywhere on radio and you have a winning show. [Barry from Watford, Alan Caddick, Nigel and many more]

The only thing letting the show down is the actual amount of callers so far, a show as funny as this should be getting jammed switchboards, maybe in time as the show gets more known about it will and I really hope it happens.

Iain's very strange cable car ride!

My main point was I thought Iain said "we aren't allowed to talk about the referendum we can get into all sorts of trouble if we do." [or words to that effect] that was clearly wrong and that was what I was saying.

Because I've been listening to LBC, BBC Radio 5 and watching TV so much during this referendum I've not been listening to all that much talkRADIO either so can't answer your question.

I have been podcasting though the best of the 2 Mikes, Alexis Conran and Iain Lee.

PS..
Forgot about the Howard Hughes show last week.

Victoria, the newsreader from Jon Holmes' show, tried on two different raincoats yesterday. Jon has had several videos on Facebook but I don't think there has been a video with Victoria and unusually it faces towards the glass

I got a very nice goody bag in the post today after taking part in a TR quiz! Now, if only that T-shirt was a size larger...! Is it rude to ask them if they have another?!?

Why would he want to talk about that? Its his personal business.

More looking forward to hearing about current news issues, he was an excellent host on LBC, so more of the same please.

On the EU referendum, TalkRadio banned callers from talking about it before the 2016 local elections and has stuck to the ban as far as I am aware, although I haven't been listening as much.

On number of calls, I listened to JHB who said some callers were having trouble getting through. Considering it is a premium rate number, if this is still an issue and it isn't sorted out soon, Ofcom ought to investigate. It is not fair to have people calling a premium rate number and to not get on air purely because off technical problems for this length of time.

Katherine Boyle was today's contestant on Paul Rossmaster.

Iain seems to have no problem getting a decent number of calls and the technical problems that blighted the straight-to-air seem to have been resolved. He rarely now has to resort to reading out of the newspaper. So if technical problems are preventing JHB getting calls, that's a bit weird.

JHB probably doesn't want to admit that she's still not getting any phonecalls.

JHB is getting publicity for talkRADIO. She was on Newsnight last night and the caption said "talkRADIO host" and the station's name was formatted correctly with lower case "talk" and uppercase "RADIO". But I wonder if people get the impression that the station is all about politics and therefore a clone of LBC whereas it has a wide variety of programming?

Are you sure? I saw her on the C4 debate, which was live and going out around the same time, I think. She gave another performance that would put off listeners, IMO.

Newsnight wasn't a live recording and she wasn't in the studio. They were doing a summary of the referendum campaign. See 6:15 on iPlayer.

Was talkRADIO mentioned or captioned on Channel 4 last night?

Ah, right, thanks.

I don't think they introduced her as anything other than a journalist, and on the 'out' side.

She has been on Have I got news for You and The Andrew Marr Sunday programme since starting on talkRADIO - both appearances she failed to get in a mention her programme or the station!

A reason LBC gets lots of calls and TalkRadio doesn't, is that LBC is on 97.3 FM in Greater London and the surrounding area. LBC is also an easier listen. You don't get bombarded with texts.

5 Live have said that 1500 people wanted to talk about the EEU referendum in a 14-hour phone-in. LBC had lots of callers yesterday, but if TalkRadio had a 14-hour phone-in on the EU, would it have managed 14 callers?

Seems the missing post forum bug has returned.

Must be all the strain of all the referendum posts.

It's also the replacement for Vernon Kaymaster in which the final contestant was Vernon Kay on Radio X.

When did Ken Livingstone join talkRADIO? Last I remembered LBC sacked him, yet he is presenting today on talkRADIO?

Utter nonsense. Jon Holmes Tweeted that he's getting paid for not coming in today. If we want wall-to-wall politics there are a number of other stations.

Why is it utter nonsense? People do get paid leave, hardly a new concept.

I think Livingstone getting another Radio gig is fantastic, however was just surprised it was so soon after getting sacked by LBC.
