Don't think it was the actual Sarah Millican, just an impression 😊

I do wonder if Jon Holmes show will last with the Newscorp takeover, I hope it survives as it an alternative to what's on at that time.

I think in its present format you should enjoy it while it lasts, I can't see it lasting more than another 12 months. All the signs are that the first RAJAR figures (on 3 August) will be poor, there are few callers and very little social media activity. The market for news-based speech radio is pretty saturated anyway, we have Radio 4, 5 Live, World Service & LBC and that's sufficient.

The issue is that Sound Digital (the mux operator) have promised Ofcom that they will deliver a general talk station on their multiplex until 2027. Unless they can find an interested third party News Corp will have to continue providing it, although they could reduce the costs by using Sky News audio - either live or recorded.

Anything goes on digital radio, regardless of what it says in the licence. Just look at what's happened on Digital One since it opened. Many stations have come and gone.

Brilliantly funny start to Jon Holmes show this afternoon, started with Hawksbee & Jacobs intro, the lack of calls due to a premium rate phone line/lack of marketing, Newscorp, Boris Johnson & Michael Gove, hope this show survives the take over!

Eamonn's long interview this morning is with Linda Robson... Strikes me that he's scraping the bottom of the barrel rather early on with this show.

The website where I was getting Iain Lee full show podcasts from has had to close down, I know you can get them on iTunes which I've just downloaded but can you download them from iTunes onto your hard drive or can you only play them in iTunes would really appreciate someone answering if you can?.

Basically can you download files from iTunes?.

Shame Bob Mills show was recorded earlier in the week, especially after the passing of Caroline Aherne yesterday,

Just turned on Howard to hear '... and we'll be returning to the best of the best of...'. Is his show recorded tonight, too?

He's normally live, isn't he?

I fear I'm repeating myself, but I've been disappointed by his shows so far. I hate to say it, but I've just found it rather boring everything I've listened in.

I'm very disappointed that just 3 months into The Unexplained he has tonight been relying on previous interviews, including some from very recently since the show began barely a few weeks ago. It's not a good omen is it, much as I wish the show well and find the podcasts top quality most of the time. There is no doubt that Howard's Unexplained podcasts are superior quality compared to the radio show.

I've also listened to George Galloway in the evenings this week. Top class, but then he's spoilt for choice at the moment, infact he's got too much worth picking over and we've still got Chilcott to come this week which will fire his juices up. You don't have to agree with Galloway on anything to fully appreciate he turns in a good listen with his shows time and again.

Been listening to Howard since 10pm (worth it just to get away from the politics) vanishing ships and a nutter that travels through time at the moment , what a load of old cobblers but I love the rubbish. Give me a crop circle to sit in with my tin foil hat(newly polished).

Is it a repeat or as it time travelled ....Cue Twilight Zone music.

I also fear the end of the station but I hope not,I will nip to the future and let you know...

I'm back and yep it's gone...

I believe we had genuinely time travelled back to 2005.

Almost real political discussion today with Jon Holmes this afternoon. Normally he usually interviews someone unknown about something trivial, but today he interviewed Lembit Opik about the Liberal Democrats. It was still a funny call, though. The Cheeky Girls were inevitably mentioned and the "scoop" at the end of the call was used for Headline Hijack.

"Steve" from Watford sounded familiar on the Big Debate.

Just after 1.30, Jon said that his show is a haven from talk of the Chilcott Inquiry as all other talk shows will inevitably be talking about it. Cornelius then says that the talkSPORT news had just told their listeners to listen to talkRADIO for more discussion on the Inquiry. Jon then said, "That's awkward."

Wow, your 16th post in just under 8 years.

Was it worth the effort?

I enjoyed it, and that's what it's about, in part, isn't it?
