Excellent Paul Rossmaster yesterday with Anna Williamson. Very amusing dig at Moyles in one of the questions. Cornelius asked Anna how to talk to girls and so Jon inevitably informed Anna that Con's mum taught him how to French kiss at a bus stop.
I really want to see the Radio X documentary

Oh dear, what a silly caller that George was. After saying what he thought of Galloway to then withdraw the comment just because he was intimidated about libel from George Galloway who would not have taken it any further whether he had his phone number or not. A major fail from that caller. He talked the talk but failed to walk the walk as they say.

I was quite surprised at the end of Howard Hughes Unexplained last night when he decided to play in full the irate guest Mike Campbell he had on last week from America over the Earhart story. I thought it was best forgotten. As for the rest of the show I really found it heavy going and it became mere background cackle for large sections that failed to engage me at all.

Nice to hear "Tony" calling up James Max a few minutes ago

James stayed on as The Two Mikes were late - he said he wouldn't continue until he got a call - first to call was Alan Caddick!

Alan said he decided to call as he hadn't talked to The Two Mikes before - let's hope he calls back!

Just listening to it now. From 4:35

Brave of James Max to stop until he got a phone call, given that the station gets so few calls! But he didn't wait long thanks to Caddick.

Its cringey... So desperate almost to not stop demanding a caller until someone called.

He did get another caller other than Caddick. It was an interesting experiment. It may indicate that people will call if there is a strong enough impetus to do so. Perhaps the dominance of studio chat and invited guests on the phone mean that people don't get the urge to call.

The other caller was on before 7 with another woman who couldn't stay on the line as she had to go to some sort of Weight Watchers!

No it was after 7pm, Irene from Hampstead, one of the dullard Pensioners (I agree with the male caller she does sound "drunk") who called Max on BBC London every single night. Before that they called LBC and some called TalkRadio/Sport Overnights. Pauline from Sutton is the absolute worst! But BBC London is grateful for all of them.

Max was in his BBC London mode after 7pm till the Two Mikes turned up. I agree callers will call if implored to, but the number is seldom given out when I listen.

If the Two Mikes are put back to Overnights on TS instead of keeping them on TR it'll be a grave mistake for the station.

I tried giving Paul Ross a listen again this morning, but his grasp of the Calais situation was pitiful so I switched off.

I tuned in about 6.55 for a handover and James was talking to two callers then, he mentioned he would be staying on after 7 and asked them to say on but one of them said they had to go to a sort of Weight Watchers. I think the other one spoke to Alan Caddick after 7pm although I can't be sure. The two ladies sounded like they could be BBC London listeners.

I'll miss The Two Mikes when they go back to overnights, particularly as my favourite bits are when they aren't talking about sport! I think an opportunity was missed not having them either during the day or evening as part of the Talk Radio line-up somewhere.

I agree, much prefer hearing the Two Mikes talk about their newspaper days, time in America, funny stories, etc.

When they talk about Sport not so much. Also last night MG told Lee they are "told to" talk about Sport. MG's heart has never been in it IMO.

i think the overnight show is great, a little bit of football talk usually with a guest from espn and then Porkys off giving us the best of his journals

The times they've covered the 10-1 slot on talksport have been pretty boring

Agreed, this is what i said in the talkSPORT thread, overnight they can get away with a lot more. If they were moved to daytimes on talkSPORT then it would pretty much have to be 100% sport. I prefer them on talkRADIO as they can literally talk about what they want.

Porky the other week talking to the food expert about his salad that had no salad in it had me in stitches.

Porky talking about telling women in nightclubs in the 70s he was the brother of Noel Edmonds had me almost in tears last week.

Thanks La Rhumba I really like to know when the quiz is as I share them around on other websites and also save them onto my hard drive, so far I have 51 of them.

Do you happen to know if they did a quiz last week I have looked for it but couldn't find it?.

Also re the discussion on Porky's heart problems, he said last night only 1/3 of his heart works, so he seems to go about his business fairly unimpaired considering. I'm surprised he has that much energy to be honest.

Tonight's Porky Quiz on Edinburgh, probably in final hour. If MG's cold doesn't get the better of him.

An amusing half hour between 4.30 - 5pm. Nice to hear Adrian Mills on the radio again, on with James Max, both camp and gossipy.
Give them a show at the weekend.

The station needs more double headed presentation, like the old days with Carol McGiffen and Moz Dee.

James read out the exact same tweet sent to Iain Dale on LBC Breakfast from a UKipper.
