And this would be where I agree with you.”

There were no knives, they were hanging kitchen utensils (fish slice, whisks etc) that caught on his tea towel and flew through the air. No kitchen has knives hanging up.

I personally thought Stein was wrong to threaten JCN, but JCN was acting like an ignorant ass-hole. He was ignoring everyone, even the oh so lovely Laura (the Maitre D’). JCN should have been man enough to apologise to Stein. After all he caused the whole problem by his typical French arrogance / ignorance. JCN was totaly un-proffessional, he made himself look a fool.

PS: I'm an ex "Chef De Partie" who has worked under numerous Head Chef's and none of them were as ignorant as JCN was.

Hang on a sec, some of you are saying JCN provoked the trouble by ingnoring his students. But when all said and done the arguement didn't concern Stien as JCN ignored Kellie and Stein decided to stick up for her. Kellie has enough mouth and tenacity to voice her own arguements and she did tell stien to not get involved. No he wanted the attention as Gary had walked out and JCN always praises Kellie and he had not hope of winning. So good ridance I say, he deserved to go.

I agree

However, on a slightly different tack, the way that last night (actually Tuesday night) Stein was brandishing one of those (type of) utensils towards Chris (JC's sous chef) was definately aggressive - Chris was definately concerned looking more at the offending utensil rather than Stein who was holding it.

The last French lesson I had was over 19 years ago, so I think it's ok to be a little rusty. What should I have typed.

Oh, well. My mistake, that obviously makes his actions less violent. Stand corrected.

Fair question. Here are the bits of evidence I collected from Monday night's live action which led me to that possible conclusion:

a whispered dialogue between 2 members of the red team (Sam & Simon?) along the lines of "Stein's pissed as a fart!" "I know, outrageous".

Stein being totally useless and confused in the kitchen that night and going AWOL after Aby's eviction. So much so that when they got the news the blue team had won that night, Kellie screeched 'And there's only been 2 of us down here' (her & Gary)

Stein having several conversations about drink with other trainees in the lounge area - along the lines of "I'm going to have a beer, I've only had 2 tonight" and "I'm going to have a glass of wine"

Seeing as there was only an hour or so of live action, I'd say there's quite high density of evidence that Stein may possibly be a bit of a drinker, euphemistically speaking.

But don't let me stop you watching the coverage from that night yourself if you want to see for yourself and / or debate it from an informed viewpoint.

I wouldn't say he has a drink problem, he likes a good amount to drink.

When he left the kitchen early the day before the big blow out, he told the others that the booze had been taken away so he couldn't get pissed.

“Hello, my names dawson and I’m an alcoholic”

“What makes you think that dawson?”

“Well I read all about it on the internet
1. I’ve been as pissed as a fart on at least one occasion
2. I’m useless in the kitchen
3. I have on occasion drunk a glass of wine after having consumed a couple of bottles of beer (although I know it would have been better to drink the wine before the beers)”

“Oh, I see! I think you need to get yourself booked into The Priory straight away”

OK OK I get the point. I said he 'quite possibly' had a drink problem. I accept that the evidence isn't conclusive but from what I've seen it is a distinct possibility. Even more so now I hear that the producers had to hide the drink from him! And yes, I have known more than my share of people with drink problems
