Does anyone know if I-Tunes have any plans to offer a service similar to that of Napster To Go because this would definately sway my oppinion on whether or not to buy an I-pod.

NTG is a glorified rental service. I'm not sure I like the idea of not actually owning any of the music I download. Although I'm sure it would be preferable to some people.

doesn't the napster thing really tie you in tho? stop subscribing, and you lose you're music?

(although i'm not sur ehow it works if you've transferred it to your player?)

[I think] you have to connect your player to your computer every once in a while so the certificates on the tracks can be updated or something. If you don't they self-destruct.

If you stop paying, the songs will expire and you wont be able to listen to them.

Steve Jobs doesn't want Apple to have a subscription type service. He doesn't like the idea of wasting your entire investment by cancelling.

Tomorrow (Thursday 28th April 2005) signals the 2 year anniversary of the iTunes Music Store launch in the US. It is possible that a subscription service could launch (as well as several new countries including Australia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Switzerland). Although a monthly service seems unlikely.
