To expect Stephanie - immature, spoilt, entitled - to change in the course of four weeks, and in a toxic atmosphere like the house, is totally unrealistic. The best that can be hoped for is that the little dawnings of awareness - and there have been some - will take root outside the house. This in my opinion will only be achieved with the help of a damn good therapist, and only if Stephanie accepts the need to change, and embraces the help.

I believe there is a lot of good in Stephanie, and again with help, the capacity to become a very rounded human being. In fact, most people have this capacity, barring narcissists and sociopaths. Sadly many choose not to embrace it.

Sensible and thoughtful post

I also shared a student house with someone like Stephanie. A little bit younger than Stephanie. She was also Charming and warm with a good heart. A drama queen and refused point balnk to ever do her share of the washing up, borrowed and messed up our clothes and act all offended when we politley asked her to clean the dishes calling us 'nasty'. However, unlike her I don't find Stephanie anywhere near as witty or hilarious.

I'm a 40 year old male, but I still identify with her (and nothing to do with being attracted to her). Go figure
