Does Danniella not drink alcohol
dobbybear

I am just watching BBBots live from the house and have noticed that Danniella along with Darren (who as we know doesn't drink alcohol) is drinking from a mug while the others are drinking alcohol . I haven't noticed before but does she not drink anymore also? Did she have a drink problem too, I thought it was drugs but not drink

No I don't think she does. She did mention it earlier in the series.

I must have missed her saying that, thank you

If you've had addiction probs it's best to steer clear, even of things like cigarettes, tho I know she's been smoking in the house.

Anyone in recovery will be advised to avoid anything that lowers their resistance to their drug of choice. I'm assuming Daniella, sensibly, has taken that on board.

She definitely does drink as I've seen her do so. She had a wee bit of that prosecco () with Tiff. I think she doesn't drink much or as regularly as the rest. Darren doesn't drink at all obviously.

She relapsed with drugs not long ago - I think she still needs cigarettes and has never given them up.

Darren had given up which is why John was concerned (and widely castigated for it) I think he meant well.

Before the public smoking ban AA meetings and NA meetings were thick with the fog of ciggies

This idea that recovering addicts shouldn't smoke is utter garbage
Complete fiction.

I ddn't realise that. It explains a lot. And why she seems so permanently on the brink of relapse.

She's not interested, it's legal.

I have seen her drinking in there too. It was after her and Gemma broke out for the second time and she was sorting things with Steph, she had a vodka and coke can in her hand. As you say I don't think it's a regular thing either.

Yes, i've seen her drinking but in very small amounts. I remember one of the live feeds showed her pouring half a glass of Prosecco and telling Tiffany that would be all she'd have so Tiffany was welcome to the rest of the bottle. I think it was when they were excluded from the Masquerade party.

i don't think alcohol was ever a specific issue for her, it was cocaine but as others have said many people in recovery from Drug addiction will try to avoid other potentially addictive substances as well.

I imagine with Alcohol and Drugs especially, it might be that if you become relaxed due to Alcohol, your defence and straight thinking might weaken so if somebody had some coke, yo_'d be more inclined to think "what the hell, i'll go for it".

Cigarettes don't change your actual thinking ability in quite the same way, although of course there are a lot of other issues health wise there.

Coke and Alcohol often go together too for users so perhaps Danielle feels confident to indulge in some "modified" drinking whilst in the house
