Seriously, what the hell has this show become?

Didn't Big Brother begin as a social experience?

Stick some strangers in a house together, cut off their sources to the outside world and see how they interact with limited necessities?

Even better, stick a bunch of self obsessed, insecure Z-Listers and watch it go off...

All of that has officially gone to pot now:

- Gemma and Danniella leaving FOUR TIMES and having contact with the outside world.
- Gemma going to the hospital (obviously had even more contact with the outside)
- Danniella going to the dentist.
- Gillian McKeith going in and telling them what they need help with.
- Tonight's 'Press Conference', a room full of people telling them how they are doing on the outside. Even Megan goes back in...
- Emma talking to the house and them hearing the boos or cheers, therefore affecting how they act towards each other.
- Tasks where they have to guess who the public have voted 'Most Entertaining' or 'Biggest Gameplayer'
- Nonsense 'Awards' showing clips from inside the house of them talking about each other.
- BBOTS taking place INSIDE the house?!

It's a bit of a joke now and has completely defied the entire purpose of the show. It really has become a load of nonsense.

It's never been a social experiment. It's an entertainment show first and foremost. I agree with everything else though, the show is a shambles...

The social experiment went all long time ago

The series was never a true social experiment.

It was billed as reality fly on the wall ENTERTAINMENT. Obviously after BB4 they got scared and BB5 happened..

When Daniella went to the dentist, she came back with a whole new set of teeth. That must have taken time.

It's ironic really. BB kick started the obsession and rise with reality crap like TOWIE and Geordie Shore, a watered down and fake take on "reality", and now it's sold it's soul and is emulating all those hideous shows.

I think it's a bit late in the day to be getting all outraged at the barrel-scraping nature of it.

Just sit back and either enjoy it for what it is and the unexpected nice bits of it (for me, Tiffany) or stop watching it, would be my suggestion. It is after all only 4 weeks out of our lives.

Scotty T's mother telling him she was really proud of him for being himself was a particular gem.

A social experiment 😂 ...yeah back when Channel 4's commissioning department was made up exclusively of psychologists and philosophers! 🤑

I think we're stuck with always having Towie and Geordie Shore idiots. and stupid Dr Dance.
it's really just catered for a certain type of audience now.

It's a shell of its former self but if it didn't evolve it would have been long gone

Big brother 2000-2001 would be quickly canned in 2016

It's a disaster of a show now. It's the lies that piss me off.

They say there will be no outside contact, we get loads of it every series.
They say we decide who goes, plenty of HM's have left without being voted out by the public.
They say there will be an explosive twist, i'm still yet to see one off these so called explosive twists

The tasks are so bad now too. Every single one is designed in a way to cause arguments and / or humiliate the HM. Also, do we need terrible tasks every single day ?

Nominations are a joke too. Too many face to face nominations, and when we do get normal nominations, a lot of the time they are played back to the house to cause even more arguments.

Every single thing about this show is set up to do 2 things every series now, cause friction and humiliate.

The fans don't help with this crap though. Every time there is a poll on the website to decide who is the most boring, entertaining etc, etc, they jump at the chance to vote on that poll. Even people on here who say they are against outside contact and too much manipulation take part in these stupid polls. Don't people understand that by taking part, you are basically saying you are ok with what they are doing ?

Then why can't it evolve again then, maybe into something good ?
