Did I say you, specifically, said that it is ok for men to go on that way? The general consensus in our society is that it is alright for men to say things like that. More than ok actually. That is not a sweeping generalisation. That is simply an observation. I am not the first person to observe this either, and one cannot deny that the double standards are rooted within sexism.

Other people can ignore her when she states how horny she is. When men say how horny they are, it is widely acceptable, and few bat an eyelid. But the truth is that ideas about what men and women, respectively, should be able to do and not do, influences many people in making the decision to be offended - or not offended - by the overt sexuality of a woman as opposed to the overt sexiality of a man.

I don't see why people are so worked up about Tiffany. If a man or woman told me they were horny (or needed to be penetrated), I'd suggest they go into the bathroom and masturbate. Sex, sex drive, the human body, etc are all normal and natural. If someone is bothered with talk of any of this then they just have to tell the other person, "I am not comfortable discussing this topic". If someone starts discussing religion or politics with me, then I say "I'm not comfortable discussing this topic". It's all the same for me--doesn't matter if it is a man or woman.

If someone, man or woman, said they were horny yo me, I would tell them the same thing - to go and relieve themselves in the bathroom or something, and I'd chuckle. Some people are more expressive than others, I think. Sometimes it comes down to differences in expression. When I say things, I like to make it so that the person I am talking to really feels what I am feeling through the words that I use - or gets as close to being ablr to grasp what I am trying to convey, through the words I choose. Tiffany strikes me as someone who operates in a similar way. Frustration makes you want to be blunt and direct. She wants it and she is not getting it, and she wants to express that in the most authentic way. People can easily ignore her. She is not hurting anyone, in my opinion. Some would. But in more cases than not, when men are overtly sexual, it is not a problem in the least. The double standards are often clearly rooted in sexism. I think people should be able to express themselves in life. The lack of expression can lead to all sorts of problems, but sadly we have all been conditioned to think that part of becoming an adult is to keep things bottled up in order to gain the approval of those that surround us, or in order to maintain a certain image. There's been plenty. The criticism of Scotty's vulgarity has far outweighed any criticism aimed at Tiffany. I also have a problem with double standards. Scotty says stuff like that and it's open season on him, Tiffany does the same and anyone who dare object is automatically labelled sexist.

Regarding the bolded bit: here in the US there is a fairly new (newish to me) urban slang that summarizes this "bitch eating crackers". Someone annoys you so much that just seeing them do something so banal as eating crackers is annoying. Another example is when you are angry with your partner (or someone close to you) and even their breathing is annoying. I just learned this phrase (bitch eating crackers) recently and found it applicable here (despite the word "bitch", lol but I call guys bitches despite the origins of the word).

Likely Tiffany and many other people don't find sexual talk offensive at least not to the degree that saying one is horny or needs to be penetrated seems to offend some people. I don't see much difference between saying "I'm sexually frustrated" and "I am horny". She isn't being very graphic. She just said the word "penetrated" and no curse words and no descriptions (no adjectives). I could give examples but I don't want cause anyone distress over what they may choose to find vulgar. I find it strange that many people have no issues with dramatic statements like "I want to punch him/her in the face" or "I'd kick his/her ass" but find offense in nudity, sex, and comments like "I'm horny" or "I need to be penetrated".

Maybe she is tired of people asking how are you doing without really caring about how you are doing. This wasn't just a question by someone she sees in passing but from someone she is living with who notices her looking/behaving different--who asks this question. If they are genuinely concerned then they deserve an honest answer if one is comfortable giving the answer. If they choose to get offended then I guess that meant more then their superficial concern. I suspect they didn't really care about Tiff and were just conforming to the usual social niceties or pretending to care.

Why should this be hidden? It is a normal natural urge and nothing to be ashamed of or hidden. I don't see how it is objectionable since it is normal like hunger, cold, sleepy, horny, happy, bored, etc. I don't see it as inappropriate since they are in a relaxed setting (it's not a job interview) and they have been living together for close to 4 weeks.
