Joan Armatrading - Joan Armatrading.

Shouldn't have worked pairing Joan with a producer with credits that include Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Clash, Humble Pie, Eric Clapton et al. But it's an incredibly beautiful-sounding album. The fact it was recorded 40 years ago makes it even more of an accomplishment.

Pretty much anything by Yello. Their sound quality is immaculate. Dark Side Of The Moon of course. Strange Angels by Laurie Anderson was also one beloved by hi-if demonstrators. For sheer timelessness of production, Jean-Michell Jarre's Equinoxe. Still sounds like it's genuinely from the future37 years on.

I love The Royal Treatment and Cherry Hill Park albums from late beautiful precious Billy Joe Royal.

God bless you and his family always!!!

P.S. If only I had found him sooner.

The Blue Nile either of their first two albums, best production ever.
