When it suits him, John enjoys having fun!

In the attention seeking task that Stephanie and Scot were given, perhaps Stephanie went a bit too far splashing good milk all over the kitchen but the rest of her histrionics as part of the task were, as some of the housemates agreed, super acting on her part. However, it didn't go down well with John at all. This made me wonder - when he and Darren were given the task of having a Food Fight in the Store room as part of "Ruining Gemma's Birthday" task, he did it all with great gusto! Did he spare a thought for the cleaners who would have to clear up the mess?

I hate food being wasted, full stop and perhaps Big Brother should think twice before encouraging such behaviour both as part of a task or otherwise!

Quite different...I don't remember the HMs having to clean up after the food fight and it was quite obvious it was down to them with the milk. The other thing is that John and Darren would have cleaned up their mess if they needed to - Stephanie has shown over and over her deep aversion to anything resembling actually cleaning or tidying. John had every right to be furious. Remember that's coming from someone who likes John only marginally more than Stephanie.

Yes, agreed. Good post.

But I think they are two different situations in terms of the underlying CONTEXT. The one orchestrated with Steph (which I personally don't blame Steph for, apart from her going too far with the milk) was deliberately designed to rile John by BB producers. Nothing will change my mind on that. The way the production staff spoke to him when he kept going into the diary room afterwards, betrayed their snide attempts to directly push his buttons.

The food fight was within a much more jovial context, where at that point there wasn't much friction between him and Gemma (where the task was designed to "spoil" Gemma's birthday).

It wasn't so much the issue over going "too far" in a task, it was the MOTIVE behind it. In my opinion, the Steph one was designed (by BB producers) to create the precise same results we saw. If she hadn't chucked the milk, I think John still would have reacted very similarly, given his growing frustration in there. Just my view

Steph did clean up the milk spillage herself.

a lot of the milk went over the carpet, that was never cleaned up.
Milk has soaked in and has made the living area smell, all the HMs have mentioned this, I think Rylan also mentioned the smell in one of his VTs earlier in the day

When John went crying over the spilt milk to Big Brother, Big Brother did say He was dealing with it. Perhaps BB could have arranged a professional carpet cleaner to come in and deal with it while the housemates were confined to the bedroom or were sent out in the Garden.

either way, Steph didn't even attempt to clean the carpet.

When BOTs were in the house "live" everyone mentioned how hot the living area was, that milk would have gone off very quickly

There was footage that showed Steph cleaning the spilt milk. But as I have already said above, when John went crying to the Diary Room about the spilt milk, BB said HE was dealing with it. BB could have arranged to send in a professional cleaner and sent the housemates either to the Garden or confined them to the Bedroom while the carpet got cleaned. Simple!
