...a million votes with his scam.

It wont have been that many plus anyone affected can contact Channel 5 as per their statement.

Gaz will have got Scotty more votes just by posting his vote to win number on twitter.

There is a good chance that snap chat could have raked in a few thousand votes Gaz fan Base are desperate for his attention and every call would have gone straight through to scotts vote line.

He has over 500,000 followers on snap chat

Even if 1% of Garys followers did it, that's 21,000 votes which is probably more than a final gets nowadays anyway.

The number we don't know off, I did read that one girl had phoned it 20 times. I don't need to get a grip - it's all there in black and white and I think if Scotty T wins on the back of this, there will be an official enquiry.

It's not a question of numbers, it's a question of fraud.

There may not have been many people who rang the line - but if the odds are anything to go by, the top 2 are very close and it could make the difference between a win and a second place. This could then be regarded as a betting scam.

Where did a million votes come from? Even one fraudulent vote is wrong, it's quite simple really.

If it wasn't serious and newsworthy, the media wouldn't be all over it. If he wins tonight it'll get twice as worse.

You would have thought she might have realised after the first time

Nobody is saying that Gaz has gotten Scotty millions of votes via the scam.

The point is people have posted on twitter that they called the number and then realised what they had done when they got connected and had been fooled into voting for someone they otherwise would not have voted for.

The fact is people have voted for a winner of a show that they may not even watch and they have done this because someone falsely advertised Scottys number as being something else he knew his fans would want to call.

People are spending their money to vote so they have a say in who wins and it could be said what is the point of an individual spending a fiver on voting ten times for their favourite, when a lot more votes have been cast for someone else via fraudulent means.

No we do not know how many votes were generated via this but the fact was votes were, and a lot of people tweeted they fell for it and probably many more who fell for it didn't tweet.

Most people who realised they were conned will just accept losing some money rather than going though hassle and expense of contacting C5

If the top two are close then YES Gaz's scam could have made a difference, if there is a huge gap between the number of votes it is less likely.

Either way, if Scotty wins, he will do so with a scam cloud hanging over his head whether the votes he won with were legit or not

Young girl trying to get through to the GS fellow who was pushing it on his Snapchat. I am only quoting what I read, just fraudulent the whole thing.

If the scam got him 1 vote or a 1000 it's just hang out of order .

People have spent there own cash voting for who they want to win , whoever that may be . And however many votes he got via this method cancels out YOUR VOTE . And YOUR CASH .

The girl in question thought it was hilarious the first time she called and that Gaz was so clever to have come up with that idea to get votes for a friend. I believe she said her reason for calling over and over again was when she showed the message to her friends and then called the number so they could listen to what it actually was on that number.

She obviously has more money than sense

If she rang it 20 times then she certainly knew what she was doing - voting for Scotty - as it would have said her vote for Scotty had been registered, unless she was also hard of hearing!

If you were running a marathon and you saw someone else running , get picked up by a car and dropped off a bit closer to the finish line , would you be happy ?

One fan admitted voting for him 137 times. With fanaticism like that, no doubt he would have won anyway. What Gaz did was underhanded and that cloud will be there if Scotty wins. If I was one of the other hms or their agent I would not be happy at all.

No, if I felt that strongly about it I'd go to the proper authorities, which apparently is a Digital Spy thread

It's damaged him too, as a Scotty win will never now be seen as a fair win.

Its a good job the winner doesn't get paid for winning.
