No one has cheated.
C5 have said they will discount any votes made for Scotty if the voter felt tricked into voting.
So those people can easily get in touch and have their votes nullified.
End of story.

It looks like he will win....and sadly even when he finds out that it has been a scam I really do not think he will care.

Stop deluding yourself....it was out and out cheating.

'If voters felt tricked'...they were tricked. What part do you not understand about cheating.

Your that desperate for ScottyT to win that you are showing that you have no morals yourself.

End of Story.

How will this work though in reality? Anyone could call and say they voted to get votes discounted. I expect they will need proof of the vote, so they can't refund or remove votes until they have proof surely..

Votes will be timestamped and the telephone number logged at the time of the vote being placed.
You ring up C5 and say you wish to have your vote removed and give them your telephone number.
That number gets searched in the database of votes cast and any votes placed will be removed it's a simple process.

Yeah, they aren't going to go to that much trouble

I don't mind if he does win..I much prefer him to Steph, Daniella and Darren. Just it is a bit of a hollow victory as his mate cheated for him. He would maybe have won without this whole fraud thing, but we will never know now

I think that's probably true.. I used to work in a call centre many moons and lifetimes ago and we could certainly do that... They used to pull that data up anytime someone complained about an operator

In this case though... If I'd been tricked into ringing the number... I'd probably just swear and then carry on with my day. I doubt I'd be calling anyone up and insisting my vote be removed. You'd have to be either REALLY REALLY annoyed. REALLY REALLY desperate for 50p back or REALLY REALLY determined that big brothers voting system shouldn't be abused.

If he was the out and out winner through honest public votes then I would have said well done.

But as you said we will never know...it has really put a nasty edge on things.

Whereas I'm sure he's totally part of it. Offering a voucher now.... on HIS twitter.

So many dirty tricks you'd think his "mates" knew he had no chance of winning on his own back.

Winning is still winning I guess but the desperation to make it happen puzzles me. I don't think he'd get anything different from winning to just being a finalist, only now there's a bunch of negativity and the words 'fix' and 'scam' attached to his name. So well done on that, Geordie Snore. (slow claps)

I've learnt though that the winner seems important while the show is on, but once it's over it really means nothing and is easy to forget.
Although I'm still annoyed that Scotty's participation has made the voting (one of the few things that can't be edited or controlled, at least not as much as everything else) very predictable and mundane. It was bad enough with his already established fanbase, but add in the cheap tricks aswell and it's seriously taking the p.
