That's the only bit of your excellent post that I'd disagree with.

The press conference task cast Darren as the boring non-entity and I think that will have a a huge negative effect on him.

We already know how hard it is for him to let go of stuff like that and it could stay with him forever.

The guy's an alcoholic who spent a month in a house where everyone else was drinking most nights.

The fact he didn't fall off the wagon is an enormous and heroic achievement that CBB and the press conference chose to completely ignore.

F and F's visits been done countless times in this era of the show through freeze tasks and yesterday's pointless exercise on the live SOTS

Other countries have no problem sticking to the no contact rule, ok there is the occasional blip at least the F and F or guest do not stay for long and at least they are briefed to not say ANYTHING about the outside world

But our show, it's a**e about face telling them EVERYTHING about the outside all for the sake of ratings and a few arguments

The only time they should be told anything is if it's illness or bereavment of loved ones and NOT information about how they are being perceived out here through tweets or guests

One of the worst things about so much information getting into the house is that it turns the final itself into a very flat affair where there are no surprises and the housemates expect the receptions and order they leave in as everything is so predictable.

That 'press conference' was against everything this show stands for. Outside contact, outside information going into the house, those smug faces judging the HM's like they knew everything that is happening in that house. We see 40 minutes of highly edited footage, how can they feel that smug and act like they know everything about what is going on in there ?

The manipulation of it all was even worse.

Make John look like a villain.
Make Tiffany look like bed hopping freak.
Make Scotty T look all innocent.
Make Stephanie look like she has been on some crazy journey and come out of it looking like the good person.
Make Darren look like Mr nice guy.

If i was a HM i wouldn't sit there and let those people talk to me like that. Another terrible episode in a long list of terrible episodes on Channel 5.

It's like you have to lower your own morale's and level of intelligence to enjoy this show anymore. It makes me wish i hadn't got so involved in it back when it was on Channel 4, it would be so much easier to give up now if i hadn't.”

Yes, they stitched them all up apart from Scottie and Steph and these are the two they gave the tasks to to wind up the rest of the housemates. It's got totally pathetic now and they might as well just have reality tv stars on the show and let the teens watch it. Even Lorraine Kelly is warning people not to go on it anymore because it's got so bad! It's just got to be so fake and OTT now. Rylan was on this morning today with Gemma Collins and Megan and he was bigging Gemma up and then we had Gemma bigging Danniella up and Megan Scottie. I am so sick of the Towie lot being on BB and I just wish the tv shows like This Morning and Loose Women would stop having them on! Most of them are as thick as two short planks anyway!!!!!

Big Brother will ALWAYS be Big Brother for me, I frankly couldn't give two monkeys about what everybody else says.

Then why get involved in any discussion ?

Yes they did say he was a boring non entity didn't they. But sadly on this occasion I think that's the only thing they got right! He has sat on the fence, followed Gemma around and condoned her behaviour because he thought she was popular, constantly kissing her on the cheek when she didn't want to do a task or anything else for that matter. He was so boring that he was a waste of a housemate for me I'm afraid, going under the radar just to cruise to the final!

Just started watching last night's Live From and am absolutely staggered. So far everyone's said what a brilliant series it's been and Feltz said she doesn't know a single person who isn't riveted or can't stop talking about it. now Judi James is on saying the biggest thing to come out of the sies is how there are no 'sicknotes', you don't 'mug off Big Brother' and how it's 'a hardcore reality' show...

There aren't any words really.

People are talking about it, that's all they are happy with whether it be good or bad reasons

Personally speaking it's not been as good as they are making out and it's certainly not 'best series ever'

Peaked at 'David's dead' and then it was slowly downhill and some are just exhausted now and want it over with

I am around 100 years old Cate and don't care who knows it and I totally agree with you and the OP. I haven't watched the "civilian" BB for a few years now as I got bored with the predictability of it all. I too am worried about the effect this present sickening production team are having on the contestants. They seem to have some sadistic need to send people to the edge. Very, very dangerous in my opinion

I feel very much the same OP as I have been on this same journey. The problem is although I haven't watched the civilian BB I have persevered with Celeb BB. Part of the reason is I love coming on this forum and the interaction with people on here I see as the "true" fans of the show (fans for want of a better word) There are a few old-timers on here still around and I think most of us are feeling pretty much the same - sad that the show is becoming this
