Are they coming from a school or something? If so, get in touch with the school and ask them to remove the number.

if there's no name, a google of the number should reveal who the sender is.

Most modern phones do allow you to block specific numbers. Google your make and model and see what comes up.

It could be an automated number - I am not sure of the proper term for them but when you get automated text messages from services etc.

Not really sure of the correct course of action here, I am guessing that the number you have is an old number that has been recycled but used to belong to a parent / guardian of this girl and the school has simply not been updated with a new number.

It kind of makes me feel a bit uncomfortable that a school is sending messages about a pupil to essentially a random person so if I was in that situation I would make some effort to either contact the school myself or pass the message onto someone who can (rather than just block the number). Obviously that isn't proving to be easy though.

07860051084 all i can find is the location of the number not the place where it was sent from. So the school could be anywhere in derby.. and i think it is a secondary school.

I used to get similar automated voice messages on my TalkTalk Business landline. It's annoying as there is no way of stopping them. I ignored hem & haven't had any recently.

Thanks i google now
To block text messages directly through your Samsung Galaxy device, you have two options. First, you can add the phone number you want to block to your contact list, open the contact, tap the menu key and select “Add to reject list.” The second option is to open a text message from the number you want to block, tap the menu key and select “Add to spam numbers.” Either of these settings can be undone on the same screens.

You can also add to and manage numbers on your auto reject list easily through the phone settings without having to add a number into your contact list. Simply tap the menu button on the home screen of your Samsung, tap "Settings," tap "Call Settings," tap "Call Rejection" and add or remove phone numbers to your call rejection list.
