He only started a few weeks ago, many (probably most) of the storylines were planned and written with Kate Oates in charge, it's Iain's job to sell them to the press regardless as he is the one in charge now.

Soap storylines are planned months (sometimes up to a year) in advance, episodes are written a good couple of months before they are filmed and they are filmed 6 weeks before they air.

I hope they re-invent Holly because she wasn't very interesting before and that was with a major drug addiction storyline. Maybe they should have recast her.

I would've be fine with her coming back with a new head. It's the actress I have reservations about, rather than the character. OK, Holly wasn't all that interesting, but played by a more capable actress she could've really shined during the drug storyline.
