No Letters from Home,No secret room,No watching other housemates and No freeze task

I can't believe a whole series has gone by with no letters from home, no freeze task, NO SECRET ROOM (when did this last happen?!?), NO HOUSEMATES WATCHING OTHER HOUSEMATES (again, cant remember the last series this didnt happen) and no freeze task. Overall there has been a noticeable change this series i think. It has felt less manipulated and all the drama has been organic. The producers haven't stirred up often (apart from towards the end). This is starting to hold promise for the future. And three sets of private diary room nominations (even though some had a slight twist. E.g. Steph's killer nom). Well done BB. More normal nominations for the civilian series please though and more live feed

There were NO completely normal noms*

* Completely normal = all nom, no one immune, all noms in dr and not revealed, no post nom twists to change result

We had phone calls from home, so it's similar.

I'm surprised at the no secret room, though. They would usually have tried to cram Steph and Jeremy in there.

That's true but they usually do a twist where one set of housemates have to destroy another set of housemates letters to get their own etc etc.

I agree.

No doubt a secret room was on the cards till 3 HMs walked and another couple kept trying to.

We did have the housemates watching other housemates when they did the awards thing the other night, which did result in some friction.

I'm also not sure if they ever do the secret room thing for CBB. Isn't that just restricted to normal BB?

That's a good point actually. OK, yes we had outside contact and no proper normal nominations (well the closest to was the last round only with Steph giving a killer nom), but not having all those things, it has been toned down a bit.

Is this the first time ever there has been no secret room on C5?

we know there was an extra bedroom in the house, but for the half the series it was taken up by plague ridden housemates or people being sent to cool off! During the night of the ant-rant they even had to turn the task room into a sort of emergency bunker because they'd ran out of space!

Maybe there had been a secret room task prepared all along but they just never had the place empty long enough to do it!

When i say housemates watching other housemates. I mean as in watching a live stream of the house in another room.

And yes they have.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I dont think there was a secret room in CBB8,CBB9,CBB10 and CBB14. Although in CBB10 there was the gods task where the gods could watch the other housemates in their room

The worst thing they've introduced in recent memory is Bit On The Side live from the house. Appalling idea

They need to stop putting up any housemate with a nomination. It completely kills the eviction buzz.

They were constantly showing private DR entries and convos to the hms in the run up to the final.

All very encouraging, let's hope it stays that way.

Although similar and yet another breach of the outside contact rule, I quite enjoyed the telephone task. It was a strangely satisfying take on a very stale feature of the show.

Why stop at live in the house:

"The worst thing they've introduced in recent memory is Bit On The Side"

will suffice

This season did seem horrendously manipulated. Even on the last day BB was still trying to stir things up.

It is a completely manipulated show.
They have got to stop meddling as it is ruining the show.
I'm sick of when the producers don't get their way they come out with some bullshit twist.

There was no secret room because it was in constant use as a spare bedroom for housemates.

They may as well just let them come and go as they want next year.

I hate the letters from home, the whole thing is so contrived, and everyone feels obliged to pretend to cry.

Manipulation, phonecalls, etc too far for me, preferred NO outside involvement. This series was awful and has finally put paid to my BB viewing!

Letters from home is a cringefest, I hate it, the way they carry on you would think they hadn't seen their families for months!!! All people ever say is '...carry on, we are sooo proud of you...' All BS in my opinion, as if Stephanie's family were actually proud of her!!!!

Totally agree with this, no need for it at all, brings nothing to the show and breaches every rule in the book - seeing Rylan actually walk out to the garden to meet and chat with the hms was the absolute nadir

Handing a housemate a killer nomination for absolutely no reason at all is more than a "slight twist"
