Let's be honest - The voting British Public are racist, misogynistic idiots...

No doubt about it.

Before I start, I wouldn't have minded a Steph or John win either but let's talk about Tiffany...

Tiffany is no questions asked, your perfect HM. She brought laughter, tears, annoyance and entertainment every night. Yet she came 4th, 4TH! What a joke.

What is the point of entering the show when dumb, brainless idiots who 'star' on shoddy 'reality' series are going to win by default because of their looks and...nothing else (well apart from vote cheating of course).

This series has proved how backwards and dim the voting public are and I personally will never watch another series again. Seriously, what is the point? Being fun and entertaining ISN'T rewarded. It's ridiculous.

And before I inevitably get the 'Bye then' comments - even a single viewer tuning out is harmful for the show.

Can we please stop 13 year old girls from voting and have them focus on something more important, like school exams or period pains?

there's already at least two other threads declaring that Tiffany losing = racism

she lost because not enough people liked her, get over it

And as long as racism is present, I will never 'get over it'.

Exactly.
Sick of people holding up the race card whenever things don't go the way they want. The color of Tiffany's skin had nothing to do with it.

Racism no. Nationalism yes. I think when it came down to it this is a UK based show and the GBP couldn't commit to a winner that was not a UK citizen. Not an opinion I share as I couldn't give two gigs where a worthy winner came from but I do think this mattered for core voters on the final night.

Then what does it have to do with it? Having a personality?

I agree race may have had something to do with it. Just possibly. Although last year Audley Harrison came second, but he is British suggesting the fact she was from the US may have been an added variable.

I was shocked at her coming 4th. Should have won for me in the end, and gave the best interview.

why would anyone, or Channel 5, care if you're watching the next series or not

If the British public were racist then she wouldn't have had much support or been in the final.

If it was racism how did shilpa Shetty win in 2007?

She was coming into a man with two kids constantly. Not everyone found that funny to be honest.

In lot of ways this was more serious she could not careless he had a wife.

You started well in my opinion but the BIB lets you down massively.

So the voting British public are not racist misogynistic idiots, 13 year old girls are

Well at least they will grow up.

That kinda seems a pretty misogynist thing to say, and TBH though you may make some kind of interesting points, let's face it teenage girls haven't been deciding the winner of CBB since about 2006, and then only once. In fact not often in the regular BB, it's a bit of a tired cliche.

I agree But we voted for Gary Bussy. ( I didn't) but it was good he won)

I think it is an age thing, us older ones who appreciate the more deserving winners are also the ones not so daft to spend our money voting.

And let me guess, you throw a tantrum and go and sulk in the corner if you don't win a game?

Seriously, tuning out because your favourite didn't win is a bit silly, but each to their own.

To be fair, that was during an extraordinary circumstance. Belo won however without any controversy so is probably a better example. Having said that, I mentioned in another thread but I feel its prudent to say again that out of the now 32 winners - they are the only non-white people. More foreign born people have won BB than non-white Brits.

Colour of her skin could well have had something to do with it, also that she was an American. Lot of Brits don't like foreigners

Of course it's nothing to do with her colour of her skin. It's because she's American!

Of course racism is present in Britain, but how large a factor is it in BB voting?

Tiffany was popular in polls, in comments on social media, and in the betting. So racism wasn't a strong enough factor to stop any of those things from happening.

And she finished 4th; so it's not like she was very close to winning.

As I mentioned in another thread, I don't think that anything in the many forum discussions of race and how black women fare in BB has taken us beyond the 'common sense' position that race will be a factor (since racism exists in Britain and it's unlikely that the BB audience is completely free of it), but no one knows how great a factor, and it might be enough to make the difference in a close result but is less likely to make enough difference to a result that isn't very close.

- "She's black"
Yeah, you're right! That nasty British public would never EVER vote someone with a different skin colour to win Big Brother.

You're 100% correct. The public in this awful country wouldn't even contemplate voting someone of another nationality. Especially American.

- "She's comfortable with her sexuality"
Yeah, you know what? I see your point! If there's one thing a Big Brother winner has NEVER been, it's a sexual flirty and open person.

You're totally correct. You'll never get a Big Brother winner who is any of those things. And frankly, I'm disgusted.”

Taken to school. Now shush about the racist, misogyny crap.

No it was more than likely the hypocritical public couldn't handle a woman open in her sexuality yet voted for a male escort. Although you would claim racism had nothing to do with it.

Whilst there are an element of people in our society that are undoubtedly racist, I don't think that is the main reason Tiffany did not win.

The problem Tiffany had is that she just didn't have enough of a fan base here and after the whole Stephanie/Gemma/Daniella blow out Stephanie gained A LOT of popularity, then knickergate and again that boosted Stephanie's support.

Now I am of an age where I remember Tiffany as New York from Flava of Love and I Love New York and I know what kind of character she is and how most of her drama starting is totally done for the cameras and just to keep her entertained more than anything else, some people out there might have looked at her behaviour and not realised that it was all this New York persona rather than Tiffany herself.

I actually wanted to see Tiffany rather than NY and sometimes we did get that but most of the time we didn't. She lost because Scotty T does have a fan base here and a large enough one at that to give him a win when he hasn't really been a central figure in the house, Stephanie gained a lot of support over the past couple of weeks and I think some people took offence to Tiffany's flirty behaviour with Darren/Scotty even though it was blatantly obvious she was doing it because she was bored and not at all interested in either of them sexually.
