Should Big Brother have Live uncut Pay Per View/Pay TV as well E4?

Big Brother Should launch it own Exclusive Channel on Sky only when Big Brother show is on.

I think if this ever happen it would be great.

1. Proper Live Streaming not this rubbish 15 minutes delayed Live Streaming.
2. No Ad breaks
3. No censoring (If they do only for legal reasons not for nudity/Bad Language etc.)

[due to enhanced parental update to Sky digi Boxes, parents could lock this channel if they do not want kids to watch it]

4. 8-16 Screen Big Brother Active screen like what sky news will be doing with the election.

1) They need 15 minute delays in case of "Fight Night". If there ever was a need for a delay, BB5 showed it.
2) Ad breaks help fund Big Brother.
3) I agree re: Legal reasons. However, the other things are governed by the ITC and general regulations.

They need to at least give the E4 fan more choice over what to watch when using the interactive eg:

8-16 Screens in Bib Brother interactive.

With a few screen reserved for each room so your not missing anything when E4 cuts away from one conversation to an less interesting one.

Maybe E4 should offer:
1. Normal E4 interactive service.
2. Spiced up less censored adult only E4 interactive service with more screens. {Requiring you enter your parental Pin Code to view after say 10:00pm to 06:00am}

They like to keep the possibility of editing involved

The 15 minute delay system is certainly, I feel, flawed and outdated considering today's technology.. especially when your consider how long the sound gaps can be for ONE swearword.

I remember reading an article on how the actual editing process is carried out.. Someone watches the feed properly live with a time code constantly running, if they feel the content breaches any of the rules they will make a note of the time code, usually adding on a few seconds either side of the noted time with PICTURES or SOUND or BOTH noted. A second person then gets fed these notes and cuts the sound and/or picture according to these notes (up until BB5 this was all carried out on a paper based system!!) If you think about it for this to work you could really cut the delay down to about 3-5 minutes perhaps less as time goes on in the series..

An uncut option would be be certainly possible using Parental Control (although at present would still be against OFCOM rules without it being a PPV event) say with a 10 - 15 second delay and a bloke with two buttons SOUND OFF / PICTURE OFF - If a brand/family/violence is mentioned or anything like fight night happens it doesn't take much to press the buttons to cut the feed .. It was said in a paper before BB5 that the web stream would be like this, however it never happened.

I think the problem with the live stream is that it is FAR too censored, whether it be for OFCOM reasons, "legal" reasons or "hold it back for C4" reasons. Also with other RTV programmes providing live streams its time for Big Brother, hailed "the multimedia event of the year", to take the next step and not step back.

well said if only the person on the button wouldn't fall a sleep between each gap then mabey it wouldn't be so long

There were strong rumours about three years ago that Endemol were considering a Pay Per View feed to get round the watershed restrictions. Nothing more was heard about it sadly.

Web streaming is not subject to the same restrictions as broadcast television but for some reason has been identical to the tv streaming since BB4. Nothing stopping them providing less censored web streaming, at least it would partly justify the fees introduced.

Definitely agree with the comments about the low tech editing. Maybe it would be cutting edge in the 90's but now technology has moved on and there really is no excuse for one swearword causing the sound to be dipped for 30 seconds. One of the eviction announcements on BBLB did seem to have some better editing but this was a one off it appears.

I wouldn't count on there being any improvements. If anything BB2 interactive was the best and things have got steadily worse since then.

However much they charged for a subscription service and even with the ads cut out they would still be legally obliged to edit out bad language / nudity during the day and any libelous comments.

Not sure what the deal is with the internet. They certainly couldn't risk libelous stuff, but may get away with nudity / bad language during the day - but I expect it's edited out on the net streams anyway as it'll be the same editors as for E4.

crikey don't give them any more money making ideas sick of the ticker scrolling across the bottom of the screen,
if they did go pay per view we would more than likely loose the streaming on E4 so people would have to subscribe..

I remember watching once when the sound cut out about 2 minutes after coming back after an ad break and didn't return until after the next one . It was shocking.
