I just opened a Cadbury's selection box that was left over from Christmas and was surprised at how tiny the chocolate bars have become.
I knew Cadbury's said they were cutting costs but this is ridiculous - even worse when the prices have gone up.

A friend of mine told me that all chocolate has reduced in size - even Mars Bars and Snickers. I'm really quite angry about it tbh.

Selection box bars have always been smaller than the individual ones anyway, but yeah companies are reducing the size of their bars while maintaining the price.

It's all about profits and it's very naughty.

get your chocolate from Aldi/Lidl. Good quality and much cheaper.

I treated myself to a £1.50 Creme egg Easter egg and the actual chocolate egg was smaller than they used to be and you only get one Creme egg! I think you used to get two with it

How rude, and no I haven't. I just don't eat much chocolate so therefore haven't really noticed.

It is only going to get worse as well. The companies making the chocolate employ huge numbers of people on minimum wage so expect either big price increases or even smaller chocolate.

They will move their production to another country

There's a good chance yes. The new living wage might be a disaster.

Wagon Wheels have reduced in size by about 5% since they were launched due to standardisation of equipment. It's one of the biggest myths out there that they have radically shrunk.

Its probably that as a child with small hands, wagon wheels seemed huge.

That would be the logical explanation. It's funny how they get mentioned all the time yet have barely shrunk, whereas Mars Bars for example have shrunk dramatically.

Thanks for that

Very interesting to read referenced facts rather than speculations stated as facts for a change.

So wagon wheels have shrunk by 12%

Strange how some of the others have grown though

The way people talk you'd think it was 50%.

They only reduced due to standardisation of equipment as well. I wonder what Mars excuse is?

Mars bar is an odd one
"In the 1980s, a standard Mars bar weighed 49g, increased to 65g in the 1990s and dropped to 51g today"
Compared to the 80s it's 4% larger now.
