Match of the Day pushed a notification to my lock screen yesterday at 7 pm "we think Gary Lineker will enjoy tonight's match of the day", just as I was settling doing to watch the Man City v Leicester match that we'd recorded from earlier in the day. Bloody frustrating because I knew then that Leicester had probably won which totally spoiled the enjoyment of the match.

How do I stop match of the day from doing this (sending the notifications to my lock screen)? I don't want football results revealed as I often tend to watch matches on catch up rather than live? Using iPhone 6 plus.

Is that a Match of the Day app, or a Facebook notification from the Match of the Day page?

If its the Match of the Day app then on the iPhone go to Settings->Notifications and in the list find Match of the Day and tap, then slide Notifications to off.

If its a facebook page, you can either turn off all notifications for Facebook in the same was as above.

Or you can go to the page on Facebook (using a laptop/desktop) and click the Notifications button or if there isn't one, click the arrow next to liked and choose notifications - you can then turn off notifications from this page.
