Freesat box

I have a Goodmans (GFSAT101SD) freesat box which admittedly has a bad reputation but up to now I havent had any problems with. However, I am now finding that I cant get subtitles (I am deaf and only watch programmes that are subtitled) on certain channels and programmes that I know are subtitled on other platforms. I also realised that there are quite a few additional channels missing but when I went into the settings to see how to go about manually retuning, that option doesnt appear to be there. The only upgrade I can do is to reset to factory settings.

I have discovered by looking online that this product is discontinued and perhaps that might be the reason why it is no longer being updated automatically? Although I cant understand why a programme that is said to be subtitled (and is on the other tvs via sky and freeview) carries none?

I may have to resort to buying a new set box (or maybe bite the bullet and get a new tv!!) but thought I would check if there is anything I do first?

Any thoughts?

There's no manual retuning option, there's no need or point with Freesat, use the automatic retuning option instead.

If in doubt, do the factory reset, which should then take you to the auto-tuning just as if it was new.

Thanks. The auto retune doesnt do anything, it just says that it is set to auto update.

May try the reset to see what that does.

That's not retuning, that's for software updates.

You want Menu/Settings/First Time Install.
