Foundation for pale skin
Hi all!
I've been having a problem getting a foundation that matches my skin colour. I'm very pale and even when I pick out a foundation in the lightest shade it always looks orange on me! I even had that thing that No.7 do in boots where they match your skin colour to a foundation, it matched to the lightest shade and even that looks orange on me. Am I doing something wrong? I must admit that I'm not very girly and I'm no good with applying make up. Does anyone know of any brands that are good for pale skin? I don't mind spending a bit extra if its the correct colour. Or maybe i'm applying it wrong? Thanks! |

sometimes the assistants that do these things aren't the best...have you tried applying it to your hand and seeing how it blends?
I am really pale and I think I use the cool vanilla in the no-7 foundation, so may give you a starting point. A lot of people use bb or cc creams these days but Im old school I still moisturise, foundation then powder |

I use this one (lightest colour) http://www.superdrug.com/GOSH/GOSH-M...y-002/p/202500, and it's not orange in the slightest. Here's swatches of the lightest 3 colours http://momsmakeupstash.com/wp-conten...ral-Powder.jpg

I'd go for mineral foundation too.
You can buy sample tester pots here for £1.49 http://www.lilylolo.co.uk/sp+mineral...ion-spf-15+001 |

Nicola Roberts from Girl Aloud has had her own line running for several years now...
http://daintydoll.com/product/foundation/ edit: although it looks like no one stocks it now going through the links, apart from Amazon |

Thanks for all the replies!
I ended up buying the Revlon colour stay foundation in the lightest colour available ![]() I also brought this fixing mist http://www.boots.com/en/LOreal-Infal...100ml_1778816/ It's pretty good and keeps the foundation on and makes it look more natural I tried the barbara daley foundation but it didnt really suit me. I really wanted to try the benefit foundation but my local boots doesnt stock it, the only benefit items that they sell is mascara or eyeliner which is a bit annoying. |

I find Revlon too dark
Lily lolo - mineral foundation is a decent shade. The BB cream is super pale. Illamasqua sb02 - very pale High street - the palest rimmel shades Other options are getting a white foundation and making your own custom blend |

I am extremely pale too and had the same problem with even the palest foundations looking orange.
I've tried loads and by far the best for me is Bare Minerals original mineral foundation in 'Fair' (not Fairly Light, which I also tried but wasn't pale enough). It's very pale and natural looking, plus it's great for anyone with sensitive skin. |

I am very pale and the best thing I have found is Laura Mercier Tinted moisturiser in Porcelain. I still use ordinary moisturiser underneath.

I'm wondering since you have pale skin do you have a pink undertone? I'm thinking maybe the lightest foundations they use on you might have a yellow tone to them which mixes with your skin tone and turns orange?
Mac do a lot of foundations in so many shades. Bourjois is also good for fair skin. I do also love Guerlain foundations as theirs are very fair too

Try this blog, she's also on Twitter and youtube. Her name's Em Ford and she does a blog called My Pale Skin. She does make up tutorials on youtube and uses a variety of different products including foundations and concealers. She does have acne and while you may not it's still a good blog etc. |

My skin's similar & I've found the only thing that doesn't make me orange is BB Cream, I use rimmel radiance BB cream and despite blending well to my colour it still covers quite well.

I use Laura Geller Balance N Brighten in porcelain, which is the lightest one and its for skin with pink undertones. Its a baked powder, so find it easy to apply.

Body shop do a really nice powder foundation called all in one face base. I use the palest shade (I think it's 02, no idea why they don't have 01) and it's perfect for my pale complexion.

Dr G is the one I use.
It's the best foundation I have ever used for coverage and finish - if anything, a little too light for me - but I use powder on top of it to correct the colour. I get it on ebay and postage is free. http://www.gowoonus.com/brighteningbalmspf30pa.aspx |

Probably sorted now, but I just wanted to add that the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation is gorgeous - number 1 is very fair, silky and light in texture but with great coverage and imo is every bit as good as the most expensive which I used to be able to afford!
*PS* Quick question to others with pale skin - I love lashings of brown mascara (not black/brown) far more flattering, but it's getting impossible to find. Anyone managed to track some down? Thank you. |

Vichy makeup
You should try Vichy makeup, they have a range of makeup for sensitive skin and the lightest shade is actually really, really pale.
