No I don't think I am the first to come up with them I am just having a bit of fun and not taking the subject and soaps in general too seriously as a bit of light relief from the mundaneness of real life, maybe others do it for that reason too.

He's brilliant. It makes perfect sense to bring him back as although Anna felt pressured, she was not in any way forced, so it's an interesting dynamic.”

Not physically perhaps but blackmail is still very much forced.

I understand that and I'm just the same and the Emmerdaily for example cracks me up pretty much every night with its wit, often dry humour and general silliness. But suppose you're down the pub with your mates one night and you tell a funny joke and everybody laughs, would you then milk it to death by telling the same joke every single time you see them for the next year? Course you wouldn't, (I hope), and this is the same thing.

But in this case it's not so much a joke as a pun on the name of Phelan being used instead of the word feeling and since it is only usually used on threads about Phelan it is easy to avoid if people don't want to see it by just avoiding those threads rather than reading and posting on them to whinge about it.

Same principle applies - it's really easy to google 'song titles with 'feeling' in the title' and keep on repeating them long long after they stopped being funny, but you're right, the Corrie ep thread is best avoided (for me) these days and I do.

Not really a spoiler when the wannabe nation's sweettart goes deeply drippy over "King" we all know she wants him to go deeply dippy in...

...deed.

She's not sorry. It's human nature. That's why her face is frozen whenever she sees him.

She just wants him to hit her one more time so she can say "oops, he did me again...he played with my heart, I got lost in the game...
...oh King Pat Phelan"

Anna Horribilis wants....
Scouse every weekend (x3)
She just might explode.

At the end of the day, I don't see nothing wrong with a little Brie and Wine.

Phe's the worlds greatest.

She may be all that, she may not have the body of a roller derby queen but working in that cafe I bet she has kisses sweeter than a knauckwurst sausage.

It does indeed seem that way, we are doomed to a land of eternal misery.

There's no reason why posters shouldn't continue with the old Phelan jokes. Sometimes I find some of the humour a bit too suggestive but if no one's breaking forums rules that's ok. Not everything in life is to our individual taste but there's no point in moaning. If posters don't like it there's a very easy solution - IGNORE IT and don't expect other people to change to suit you.

Now back to Anna... She's such a miserable whinging moo. She wasn't making much of an effort to keep away from Phelan when she was outside brushing up. Why didn't she just go back into the cafe until he had gone? No, she couldn't do that could she? She had to stay and eavesdrop. Anna only keeps out of Phelan's way when it suits her. What a badly written character and SL.

I'm waiting for a clever pun instead of the endless repeats of the same juvenile ones.

A clever pun is one which requires real thought like "A hangover is the wrath of grapes." not just using a name to sound like a word.

I think you just have to be pheeling in the mood for the jokes to really land.

Thanks.

So puns should be clever and we have a lesson on what makes a clever pun. There's an air of arrogance and superiority about that.

Someone needs a reality check.

These demands certainly shouldn't stop other posters repeating the same old jokes if they want to. Some on the thread/forum seem to like them. Can't they be allowed to just get on with it? As long as post are within forums rules and regs, surely the best plan must be to ignore any posts that are not liked.

In the photos Phelan looks really scared when Anna goes for him with the lead piping. Wonder if he'll say - Anna Nooooooo

Tend to agree!!
We all like a good laugh & some of the jokes were hilarious but does anyone really still find the same jokes funny on the 5000th reading or is a lot of it down to people desperately seeking approval from certain other forum members?

Anna needs to know that spiteful words can hurt your Phelans but silence will break your Phelans heart
