EE-Sonia. Thought She Had Left. So Underused Recently
The second installment of Sonia has been boring this time. Not much interaction. Really think she was a character to be left in the past. First time round she was brilliant. The show changed since she left. Where's Chloe too.

Sonia was a good character and I thought Natalie Cassidy did a decent job in the role. But you're right, she's barely even an extra now. Putting her with Tina just hasn't worked as they don't do anything at all.

She's far too busy working in every department of the hospital and knowing more about medicine than one of the top surgeons there. In her spare time she's pilfering more charity money and not getting in trouble for it. That's why we don't see her

soaps are really good at the whole "love triangle", "coming out the closest" storyline, but when a couple is just a couple, (this applies to straight and gay relationships) they often get it wrong.
Would love to see Tina and Sonya have a storyline, yet mot of what we get is Sonya playing a part in Martins life, Tinas deserves better. |

My opinion of Sonia changes like the wind, sometimes I hate her because shes being a nosey, irritating busy body... Other times I actually quite like her, I think her and Tina are underused and Rebecca even more so. I want to see far more of Rebecca and Sonia and Tina need a storyline this year. I think a couple of the things I like about Sonia are that firstly, she has an interesting job away from the Square (which could bring her a storyline) and secondly that, when shes not getting all up in everyone elses business and being annoying she can be quite a nice, normal character. Her scenes with Kush and Martin lately have been nice.

My dislike for Natalie Cassidy unfortunately makes me dislike Sonia and not care if she's underused.

I liked Sonia years ago but now she's just there to interfere in other characters s**t, when I watch her now I feel like I want to tell her to f**k off on the other character's behalf!

Can't stand her nor the actress. She like many other characters on the show are surplus to requirements. |

I do get a bit bored with the 'Sonia knows everything' and 'Sonia saves the day' story-lines also suspect that she will be the one to realise there is more to Kush and Arthur the way she was looking a Kush when he was looking at and talking about Arthur.
![]() And whatever happened to her trumpet, they are missing a trick every time she enters a room or when she is about to make one of her sage like observations they should have her give a quick trumpet fanfare.

I'm indifferent. I think Tina needs a storyline. Personally Rebecca needs aloy more screentime. Whats happened with her music since Sonia and Martin split?!

I don't dislike Natalie Cassidy, but I really can't be doing with Sonia. She needs to go.

I like the fact that Sonia is a character that has a life outside of the Square. This does mean that she isn't always around when stuff is going on. Also fact that Sonia who came from dysfunctional family with little or no aspiration apart from making ends meet has made it in nursing. There is not enough aspiration shown. I'm hoping that Tanwar finally starts to make more of himself than being a market inspector. Abi is another one who needs to go to University. Michelle Fowler did it even with a young child.

Anyone else chuckle when on Monday she answered the door to Kush, grinned, and went "Alright??".
I just always expect that to be followed by "I'm Natalie Cassidy!! Just doin' this now".

It would be good to see her weight issues explored a bit. An eating disorder storyline would be perfect for her. Something like EDNOS where she has anorexic traits but still looks physically healthy. She could become addicted to exercise, start crash dieting, etc.
I was diagnosed with EDNOS when I was 17. I fit the entire criteria for anorexia but I still had a normal/borderline overweight BMI and I still got my periods. I was addicted to exercise in that I tore both my calf muscles but continued exercising every single day. I couldn't stop for one day because I thought I would gain weight. It was a very OCD thing. I also restricted myself to 700 calories a day. It was really bad. I was overweight as a child and got bullied a lot for it, and that screwed me up as I grew older. This sort of thing would be perfect for Sonia. She's a really horrible character when she acts as everyone else's wet blanket. But when she has a good storyline she can be a great character. I think she needs something dark like this. She hasn't had a memorable dark storyline since Jamie. |

They should introduce Sonia's dad maybe Give her a few half brothers and sisters out there they could introduce giving Sonia some family also explore the cancer gene storyline again there's still plenty of stories left they could give Sonia.
