We've already got a thread about what certain things from SM's era should be kept during Chibnall's reign, but what if another thread reversed that?

So, what elements of the Steven Moffat era don't you want to see or be kept once Chris Chibnall takes over the reigns?

I personally think that the Master should go back to being a man. Lose Michelle Gomez and recast the role. No offence to Michelle! She made a really good Master.

I just think that they should have had her cast as The Rani. Would have made more sense that way.

Also, I think that the Patenoster Gang shouldn't be seen again. And if the Sontarans come back, make them serious, rather than comedic, like Strax was.

The St. John’s Ambulance logo on the outside of the Tardis, definitely.

I don't really! I was just amusing myself at Tiggers expense.

The TARDIS. Stupid deus ex machina plot device. Oh, and get rid of that Doctor character too, before he gets the show cancelled.

If you've seen An Adventure in Space and Time, you'll know that The Doctor is the most important character in Doctor Who. Without him, you wouldn't have a show.

Getting rid of both The Doctor and the Tardis would be silly.

Not just a Moffatism, but season long story arcs can go.

They never deliver the goods under Moffatt, so into room 101 they go.

On a serious note, while I've loved the timey-wimeyness and Moffat loops of his stories over the last 10 years, we do need a bit of a break from them now!

Simply new ideas, but that is being changed regardless as it is a new showrunner.

Indeed sigh...there's a word that people dare not speak on here but I think it helps one understand the behaviour of many posters and indeed much of the Doctor Who fandom in general.

It's just probably not very wise to utter it.

Mark Gatiss.

Scenes where characters shout their character traits at eachother for no apparent reason.

Story arcs that take years to pay off.

Companions' spouses, boyfriends, parents, etc. (I know RTD did that beforehand).

Sex change gimmicks.

Fat Daleks.

Only in your mind!

The GI went into the Doctors time stream and corrupted it. Clara went into the Doctors time stream and corrected the corruption. The Doctor went into the his own time stream and removed Clara. It was as if the GI and Clara had never been there and all was as it was before the GI entered.!

Why, the 'Clara ruined Doctor Who' brigade will cry, was he able to meet Oswin and Vic.Clara? Simple, The Doctor knew he needed them to be left in his time stream to signpost the way to the resolution that needed to happen to stop the GI.

I don't recall the bit about the Doctor removing Clara from his timeline. Is that something fans have decided through discussion or was it stated somewhere in the show?

There is also the Season 9 stuff about the Doctor actually leaving Gallifrey because of the hybrid - and that now turning out to be him and Clara.

so I think Logopolis's point is a fair one.

Thanks for that first paragraph....saved me typing similar! I've heard that 'criticism' a lot of times and always think...nooo, that's not right. Clara is *not* going to appear in your 'Dragonfire' DVD all of a sudden. The Doctor's victories *are* still his.

Dragonfire would probably be one he wouldn't want Clara or the GI to remember... almost throwing yourself off a cliff is a little embarrassing...

But I do have the creepy image of Jenna Coleman's face hiding in the DVD extras staring through the screen.

Can anyone clarify the situation with Clara and the Doctor's timestream? Does she appear throughout it, or did the Doctor fix it and delete her?

It all happened in an aborted timeline as of TimeOTD anyway so I don't think it particularly matters too much.

Probably the best approach. I do the same with the notion that the 12th Doctor might be several billion years old (because of Heaven Sent). I take a view it was all virtual and so didn't actually happen.
