Three things.
1. No more Doctor/Companion kissing/Holding hands 2. No More story arcs & more cliffhangers. 3. The companion knows there place and gets back in line because the Doctor is the star of the show. He should be the one who solves things. |

Things I definitely don't want to see from the Moffat era in Chibnalls.
1. Arcs that are all hype at the start, but then actually come to nothing but a confused muddled mess and leave a disappointing finale (see: every Moffat series arc so far). I'd also add to that mysteries left for years and at first hyped to be part of a big plan, but then all hurriedly answered in mumbled one sentence explanations at the very last possible episode. 2. A companion that is anything like Clara. Never want to have to see that again. 3. Part time companions. For me to invest in a companion, I have to know that they have invested in what a great honour and once in a lifetime privilege it is to have an adventure through time and space, and not somehow be so dull that they think regular life is as important as this once in a lifetime adventure. That is why I hope to see full time traveller companions, and none of this Clara series 7/8 part time nonsense. 4. The show runner seeming to put a gimmick that can be advertised and trying to show how clever they can be (e.g every dalek ever, the doctors death, the doctors death again, the impossible girl, the hybrid) , above thinking about whether a story is well thought out and paced, with a satisfactory start, middle and end. Hopefully Chibnall will consider his stories before considering the potential hype he can give them. |

If you say so, but I think "established continuity" has always been a funny thing in Doctor Who on a "make it up as we go along" basis. Things such as the original idea supposedly being that the Doctor had built the TARDIS, Susan naming it herself rather than it being an official term, the Second Doctor stating that Time Lords could "live forever, barring accidents" which was literally swapped around afterwards and followed by countless other retcons of how regeneration works, and the entire rewrite of the Daleks' origins... it seems silly to attribute it solely to Moffat when plenty of others have done it before him. Terrance Dicks, Robert Holmes, Douglas Adams, Andrew Cartmell, Russell T Davies are all guilty and I'm sure Chris Chibnall himself will have his own ideas on how things work in the Whoniverse.

Ok I'm sorry my opinions were different to yours. Thank you for making me see the error of my ways. Obviously I don't know what I'm talking about (I mean 30 odd years as a fan is not long enough to be able to have my own opinions) I'll try not to fo it again

![]() ![]() I've said it before, the companion snogging thing is too weird for me, because it's like seeing your grandad or Gandalf kissing somebody you went to school with a few years ago, and him regenerating into David Tennant doesn't make that any less weird. |

Companions that become far too important. Long term story arcs that suddenly become an inconvenience when they need to be wrapped up. Death becoming a minor inconvenience.
