Today's episode had the start of some new storylines and the thrilling climax of some old ones.

Today's episode featured Lauren Carpenter, Brad Willis, Susan and Karl, and also had some nice scenes between Susan Kennedy and Doug Willis and Paul Robinson and Doug Willis.

If you watch yesterdays episode you'll see some brilliant drama from a serperate story featuring more classic characters (steph scully, Lyn Scully and Charlie)

2016 is here and it seems Neighbours, after years in the duldrums, is back to being unmissable. Its on at 5.30 Channel 5, 6.30 Channel 5+1, and Demand 5. If you have it recorded its literally 20 mins in and out.

What was so great about it? All I saw was some predictable melodrama for two poorly acted, uncharismatic characters, with just as many contrivances and 'yeah right' moments as Neighbours at its very worst.

I can't deal with any more 'art house' directing/ editing either, it's so pretentious and distracting.

Well I enjoyed it. I am glad Paige and Brennan are no more though and hopefully this DiMato rubbish is at an end.

Did Kate come back?

Nope, it was rubbish (but not that rubbish, although we did get a totally unnecessary mention of Brennan's Dead Fiance). Contrived, slow-moving and obvious.

I have never had the slightest interest in watching Neighbours, and nothing puts me off a programme more than being told that I need to, or should watch it.

They focus way too much on Brennen and Paige

Thank you, I haven't watched it in years but Karl and Susan are the golden couple. I've invested so many hours in their marriage, I'm please they are still together (despite their problems)

You need to start watching as they have a huge tear jerker of a storyline coming up. It might involve Sarah Beaumont

I grew out of neighbours when I turned 13.

Sorry Doctors is heads and shoulders above Neighbours so won't be switching sides and I don't really want to sky+ Neighbours. It's only soap.

Really? I watch both, but I far prefer Neighbours. Doctors can be really annoying with their repetitive SOTDs. A lot of the characters for me are irritating for me too (the only one I think is great is Al).

I've watched Neighbours on and off for years. Started watching again about a year ago, but January IMO got off to a very shaky start, and since then it's gone downhill so I switched off. Watched a random episode the other day but found nothing of interest. Too many cast leaving recently and the stories are either duff (Dimato) or not really going anywhere. I think it's in the doldrums again, personally.

You joking? I watched an episode of Doctors a few months ago and it was about some guy who could see the future lol. Never seen so much rubbish in my whole life.

So I am, but each to their own. For those that still enjoy the show good luck to you. It's good we have choice and all that mullarkey.
