How will 4K be transmitted to my tv

I've just bought a uhd tv in preparation for the forthcoming advent of 4K tv, and was just wondering how will this be delivered to the tv. Will it just use a normal HDMI cable?

HDMI version 1.4 onwards is capable carrying 4K content, although you'll obviously need a 4K source.

4K channels on Freeview should be available in the future, but don't know when.

The 4K standards have not been fully decided yet so don't be surprised if your new TV doesn't work when they are.

Yes... a normal high speed HDMI cable. It will plug in to a 4K/UHD box, or a Blu Ray 4K/UHD player. Right now, only BT TV do a 4K TV box as far as I know, any others are for the future. Netflix 4K is also available on various boxes and TVs.

You'll need hdmi 2.0 to get 4K at 60fps.
It will be interesting to see if anything ever gets broadcast at 60fps though.

I thought they had?

Although I don't think any badged sets are on sale yet, so the OP is unlikely to have one with the logo, although it might still fulfil the criteria.
Even if it's not up to the standard it's very unlikely not to work with a suitable player.

The Amazon Fire tv box uses HDMI, but requires the tv to have HDMI 2.0 capability (not 1.4) for 4K. It's delivered over an internet connection.

^^ Thats sort of my problem as my new marantz doesn't support HDCP 2.0 but luckily the new TV has the amazon app and the 4K stuff looks good. It's very unfair this HDCP, yes you can go straight to the TV and use ARC but when TV's are having less and less HDMI's, it's going to cause problems.

HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 - but the new 4K TV will have both of those. O/P seems to have asked about the cable connection though, which will have to be "High Speed" HDMI cable - and they are nearly all that, these days.
