Hey guys and girls, I was wondering what you would like tune wise to be on SCD 2016 and why?

Firstly I'd like Calvin Harris featuring the disciples with how deep is your love to an upbeat salsa to make it a contemporary routine:

I don't know why but songs I would like to see include
James Bay Let it go for Rumba
Sorry for a salsa
Standing With An Army for Rumba
Uptown Funk Cha-Cha-Cha surprised it wasn't used this series

The person at the top of SCD didn't want it to be on probably.

I bet one of the ones I have said will be used

Or more likely because it was used for a group dance in the very first show of the series.

I would say that Overcome by Laura Mvula featuring Nile Rodgers will maybe feature in this year's forthcoming series

While we are still a couple of months away from the next series - they are still to decide what professionals will renew their contracts - I do believe that songs that will become big in the latter half of the year when the series is in progress will be done. This happened last year, with Hello by Adele and Writing's on the Wall (Spectre theme song) by Sam Smith. Both songs were unknown to the general public at the start of last year's competition.

I would also like to bring this up too. When I went to the see the Strictly tour in Glasgow - which I really enjoyed - two David Bowie songs were played: Modern Love during the interval and the (album version) of Let's Dance right at the very end. I found that very interesting and I did wonder if a Bowie song or two will feature at some point in the new series.

Another salsa tune in the shape of house every weekend by David zowie:

The Corrs - Head in the Air: Quickstep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvmgjebqQio

(good beat and could be used if they sign up an Irish singer/actor)

Leann Rimes - Can't fight the moonlight: Cha Cha Cha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx3s99FNXzI

(not an obvious choice, could work with a good choreographer)

U2 - Elevation: Tango https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19KstSgU-c0

(would be fun to have a very fastpaced one instead of the normal dramatics)

Nelly Furtado - I'm like a bird: AS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roPQ_M3yJTA

(obvious one, for the lift cues)

I think anything from the brits last night could be possible song choices such as Hello for Rumba and Drag me Down for maybe Foxtrot or AS?

This tune by one Republic with I lived for a show dance routine:

Don't think we've ever heard it on SCD before, but it's a very atmospheric tune indeed.

It'll be up to TPTB and the choreography director now Terry M22 if they want to have that tune onto it. I'll post more tunes on as time goes by.

The powers that be Terry M22 abbreviated.

Speaking of Nelly Furtado, she would be a good choice if the TPTB need some new latin song choices (say it right, maneater etc.).

Or this one, used as the official theme of Euro 2004 (Samba perhaps):
