Hi all
Has anybody got the freeasyougo mobile sim i have had mine for 2-3 months now since it started up.

It was ok but now it seem's i'm not getting the credit they give you every month
Tried contacting them on there number but it just don't ring or connect just hangs up straight away.

Sent email and no response been on Facebook and Twitter no one has left any feedback.
Website still up and running just wondering now if they have gone bust already.

Another company giving something for nothing and then taking it away with in a few months.
They have now changed the name to AS YOU GO and no more £5 credit every month.

They say Nothing changed for free as you go customers but it has because i still haven't received the £5 credit and cannot call them and they didn't even answer my email i sent over a week ago.

It seems pretty clear that mobile companies can't survive by giving away services for free or next to nothing. No real surprise there and fine as long as you know the risks and don't port in a valuable number.

Personally I can't be arsed with any of these potentially risky telco's

First Ovivo then Samba with their free stuff were great while it lasted but both gone now and I’ve given up on this free stuff now even though Freedom Pop keep sending me e-mails to join their free stuff I just can’t be bothered with them anymore.

Yeah i must agree with Orbitalzone and SkipTracer i think i will give up with all this free stuff from mobile providers freedom pop is a waste of time as well because the phone calls are not normal they are done like skype and vop so lucky if you can hear anybody.

Free As You Go as not gone yet they are now called As You Go and you have to top-up now.

Also an update: I still have my free as you go from last night i got the £5 after the 2nd email i sent so it looks like i will still get the free £5 every month for now just have to wait and see if i get it next month

So if anybody else as the faygo sim hang on a bit longer with it.

These business models never work. Ovivo was good while it lasted, so was Blyk. Currently trialling FreedomPop and hate it. Call quality over their VoIP system is awful and I constantly miss calls because it takes so long to answer them via the stupid app!

Seriously though if you're skint you really can't go wrong with Life Mobile's £6 deal they're doing through uSwitch at the moment. 1500 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data. You can't get better anywhere else for that price. Plus they're owned and operated directly by EE so you're pretty safe.

Who is going to mess about with a VOIP app though on a permanent basis on mobile, which as we know if flaky. I can understand having a wifi calling app as a nice little bonus for when you're stuck with no signal in a pub and they have wifi, or for at home and if the mobile mast is undergoing maintenance etc, but it's no good trying to rely permanently on an app for a bit of penny pinching when you can get deals for £5 - £10 which include cellular calls. Three only charge 3 pence a minute for calls on PAYG.

It is going to be such a niche interest that the company will realise they're not going to make any money and will go onto the next business project. How many users do free as you go (or whatever they are called this week) have? I wonder what they earn from the customer base? Is there a long term business in it?
