Just had a quick look on mobiles.co.uk and top cashback and can't see any cashback deals linked to this tariff???
Sorry, it was only briefly available on the mobiles.co.uk website on Wednesday/Thursday. I managed to grab it literally just before it vanished! |

Just make sure you're not on WiFi when trying to activate it and it should work fine.

This deal is great
I was putting off haggling with them after my contract had just ended, but I just switched to this instead. They are switching me overnight and giving me the entertainment bundle again and adding the Euro Traveller Plus to my account, which surprised me slightly - I was expecting them to claim they were for new customers only and give me a worse deal for renewing. I did it over live chat too which was probably slower than over the phone, but definitely easier. I was thinking of switching to EE but I think at this price staying is a much easier decision. Thanks for posting binary, I probably would have missed this otherwise! |

Don't forget to call VF after 12 months as the price will go back up to £40.

That's what puts me off all these bait and switch deals, they basically rely on the fact people don't put dates in their calendar or just get used to paying the higher rates. Once you do these offers you've then got to keep chopping and changing every year, looking around for deals and the hassle of Vodafone probably getting your plan changes and prices wrong each time etc..
Even when you get to the checkout stage it just says that the monthly cost is £20. Surely Vodafone need to tell the customer before the purchase is made that the price reverts to £40 after 12 months. Plus I find it odd that Vodafone are promoting it as 'Good for Three customers'... But it's only good for 12 months. |

Vodafone state that prices will not change for duration the initial term, so after 12 months it can change (and will in this case). I fail to see the issue as this is stated several times on their website.

Signed my wife upto this.
Went into a store today and asked them about discount end date, he said the discount does not have an end date and until you upgrade / change tariff the discount will stay in place, so no such 12month limit. What will happen though is you entertainment choice stops after 12 months and you will need to agree a new deal and price to keep that going. |

That's not true. The discount lasts 12 months and then the price goes up to £40 after 12 months.

http://i68.tinypic.com/e984ft.jpg It's definitely for 12 months, just set the date in a calendar and it's no problem. |

What are the odds that in 12 months many will have totally forgotten about this offer and all start paying double money. Some will even just keep paying it, that what Vodafone hope otherwise they wouldn't have an offer that literally double in price on a schedule like a time bomb.

Moved from Three one lane to Vodafone some months ago and have been thoroughly impressed. I am in London and have a great 4g signal all over the city and suburbs. Customer service has been great as has the free premium Spotify. Can't fault it at all. Three's signal was ridiculously poor in comparison.

For what it's worth I've just a a live chat with a Vodafone agent and it was stated that the price will not increase to £40 after reaching the minimum term. Got a copy of the transcript so woder which is true ?

My old plan was meant to go up to £40/month after 12-months, but for some reason kept at £30. I wouldn't trust that to happen again with this deal, but to be fair to Vodafone it's £20 for the length of the contract - as soon as the price goes up you're free to leave. EE are currently showing the half-price price on some SIM only deals even though the price only lasts for 3 months of a 12-month contract!
It's a pain to have to change again at the end of a contract, but I still think it makes more sense to switch to this plan than let my old one keep going at £30/month indefinitely with no entertainment pack. |

Does anyone know if the £80 Quidco for Vodafone SIMO £27+ counts for the £20 sim as its a discounted £40 tariff? Better than the £60 Carphone deal if it is..

From what I am reading elsewhere, all cashback by redemption will not be payable from Vodafone, no cashback websites will pay out on this offer and all discounts (beyond the half price offer) are null and void.
Won't hurt in trying but don't hold your breath. |
