Personally I don't see why he is in the wrong for attacking Kyle. He deserved it really for making inappropriate remarks and trying to push Simon's buttons obviously to get a reaction, of course it backfired and he has ended up injured.

Sod if he is unable to play football again, at least it will be a constant reminder to be careful who he is messing with in future. Kyle was just a pathetic bully who has no doubt treated others like this, but this time he came across the wrong person.

So good on Simon, no point being a pushover.

Totally agree with this!

Kyle got exactly what he deserved.

Did he Break Kyle's leg?

If he did, that is going too far, although a punch up the hooter wouldn't have gone amiss!

If someone is picking on you mouth them back, or make them trouble you don't batter them to the point they are hospitised. There's something quite psycho about Simon

Yeah, I've known lots of "Kyle's" in the past, he deserved what he got. Not saying SImon was right to do what he did though.

Not at all, bullies get what is coming to them.

Totally agree with this!

Couldn't agree more. He'll think twice before mouthing off or constantly getting on someone's case.

I dunno, but knowing how exaggerated Corrie is when it comes to injuries he'll no doubt be hospitalized with tubes up his nose and hanging on for dear life. But then again Weatherfield General have a good reputation when it comes to treating patients (such as Carla being magically cured from broken ribs and broken collar bone within a couple of days) so Kyle should be fine. He did just trip after all.

He saw how Simon was pissed off yet kept taunting him, obviously trying to get a reaction. He didn't back off and in the end got hurt. As I said he'll think twice in future before mouthing off to someone. It wouldn't surprise me if Kyle has taunted and tormented kids in the past and thinks he can get off with it. Unfortunately for him he picked the wrong person.

It is all over the top anyway. Simon either tripped or kicked him, yet the way Corrie are going about it you'd think Simon beat him with an iron bar.

Being a thug is not the answer he should have verbally abused him back. The only time I could say Kyle desreved it is if he said something evil to him, wished something bad on his mother or made very vulguar comments

Maybe if Simon admitted to Leanne that Kyle called her a slag she might not care as much for Kyles failed football career!

If Simon treated his mother with respect, I'd agree. But Simon has called his mother FAR worse than what Kyle has said and it hurts MUCH more from your own child.

It's not only what he said as has been pointed out on other posts...it was the goading as well before the game. There's no place on the pitch for Kyles behaviour and attitude...he was bullying someone smaller than him who decided to stick up for himself.

Not at all, bullies get what is coming to them.

Kyle got his leg broken in two places. It's a shame it wasn't three.

Simon deliberately injuring Kyle was the last straw for Leanne; she reported him not just for this to the police, but the times he has attacked her. I did think she should have been talking to Simon's counsellor, who is premumably a trained social worker, and let him decide it the police should be involved.

I don't think Simon was necessarily in the wrong this time. It looked bad when he stood over the boy and told him that he deserved it but things are not always what they seem.

When Leanne went to the police station to report Simon's various assaults, did anyone else not think that there should have been a WPC in the interview room with her?

Until she actually said it was her stepson and not another adult, the police would have had no idea who she might have been about to mention and, since she was clearly in bits, I think a WPC would have been a more friendly and sympathetic approach. And don't go saying there probably wasn't one around at the time ... this is Soapland, so of course there'd have been someone available!

I'm surprised she couldn't hear, they were going at it loud enough and anyone could see something was happening.

I agree Kyle deserved a punch for his behaviour but there's something far more sinister underlying about Simon that needs sorting out before something really serious happens (if it was real life of course )

As Leanne pointed out, what if the next time someone winds him up he ends up stabbing them or something!! She did right to take drastic action imo! Make him think twice about his actions in future!!
