Emmerdale has become really boring lately I have noticed every week there is either a character in a hospital bed or in a Police Station being interviewed. The producers of Emmerdale need to go back to the drawing board concerning the story lines. They should occasionally should have stories that revolve around a hospital ward or a Police Station but every week is beyond a joke.

Emmerdale also pushes it with storyline concerning sex the producers don't think about children watching the programme at time of night with story lines concerning sex like the one going out this week with Kerry and Dan making a Sex Tape. Coronation Street goes out at a later time and it is not near the knuckle with stories concerning Sex like Emmerdale.

Regarding "sex storylines" - Emmerdale is not for children. Yes, it is on before the watershed, and intended for "family viewing" - which is parents and kids watching it together. That way parents can decide what is suitable for their kids.

Mind you, the" sex tape" wasn't exactly explicit, was it?

I agree. At the end of the day, parents need to take responsibility for what their kids' watch, rather than blaming others.

I do agree with the OP about Hospital scenes though, they have been far too many. Hopefully the new producer cuts down on these hospital scenes and shows more of the beautiful countryside instead.

With all due respect, nothing shown on Emmerdale is explicit - most of the "sex scenes" are left to the imagination of the individual viewer. If kids are drifting in from Cebeebies and see what little is shown on Emmerdale, they are probably bored. I remember when I was a kid seeing a couple of actors sampling a tongue sandwich was a complete turn off for me

You cannot make modern drama dealing with contemporary issues as if it were still the 1950s. Judging by the conversations you hear on buses between quite young teenagers, they probably know more than the soap teams

A lot of the sex references in Emmerdale are relatively vague and I'd hazard a bet a vast proportion of the kids that happen to see it won't even know what the words mean. I can't imagine, on the whole, words like "intimate" being in their vocabulary just yet. But even if that was the case, considering the number of kids (certainly in my area anyway) that I hear routinely coming out with swear words and see making sexual gestures to passers-by, I don't really think Emmerdale would be a big part of the problem.

I do agree though that there does seem an overwhelming proportion of hospital and police scenes over the last year or two though and hope this does get cut down a bit. Then again, if they disappeared I suppose people would be complaining, like with Corrie, that we never get any scenes away from the main setting.

Not bothered by the number of hospital or police station scenes or the sext tape stuff.

I was more bothered by the norovirus SL - not something I need to hear about or 'see' when I'm eating my tea!! blurgh!!

I think I prefer some of the hospital scenes and police station scenes to the affairs, for me way too many folks who can't keep it in their pants or their knickers up. Not complaining about sex scenes as we really don't have any but the idea of a long lasting happy relationship seems alien to the writers.

Back to the old Emmerdale farm, when Jack had to do the milking, or take the sheep to Hotten Market.
