Blu-ray player problem

Panasonic DMP-BD75, bought 2011, not actually used much.

Problem is I load a DVD or Blu-ray and the remote control doesn't respond when I try to navigate the disc's menu. The only way to get it to work is to switch off the player and re-load the disc, then it works fine. Every disc is the same.

Tried changing the remote batteries, no difference.

It's just irritating! Any ideas on a fix for this?

Apart from change the batteries in the remote, what else have you done to try and fix this? Have you updated the player's firmware for example?

Panasonic's firmware page for the DMP-BD75:

http://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/...d75/index.html

Includes instructions for updating through the player's menu, or if it's not connected to the internet, how to make a firmware CD-R.

Personally, if still under guarantee, I would take it back to the shop and get a replacement unit.

You obviously didn't read the original post very well - he bought it in 2011

Cheers, Chris and Ulysses. I've updated the firmware (from 1.32 to 1.59) via direct internet connection, and it's now working as it should. I didn't know anything about having to update the firmware prior to this. Live and learn.

It's a common requirement on pretty anything vaguely modern I'm afraid.
