I hope so. We've seen him in counselling sessions before so I hope we see that again.”

I wasn't sure if Adam would tell Vic but I expected Paddy to tell Rhona which he did!!

I'm also glad Adam didn't tell her, she'd probably would have then told Diane etc. It will all come out next week anyway.

Aaron definitely needs counselling & hope it helps him!!

Yeh everyone will know soon anyway but it's nice that Adam kept Aaron confidence.

Have to say I like the mix of old and new Robert still need a bit of both and they shouldn't change him too much

I think so too. Neither character needs to totally change for them to work as a couple.

That broke my heart too. Chas really needs to get some help to get through this. I hope she doesn't express this thought to Aaron.

Aaron isn't the biggest lad in the world, so when he was 8 he must have been very small and looked terrified. Even if Sandra thought it was physical, rather than sexual abuse, she was a very hard cow not to do something about it. Gordon is quite a hefty chap - despite the cancer and treatment he has gone through

On the Chas running the pub thing, and having "enemies", take a look at You Tube for a Hylda Baker series called Not On Your Nellie.... when she is being tiresome I just picture Chas as Hylda Baker

Sadly, I think for once she is right. How on earth would you ever get over something like that happening to you at 8 (and I suspect whatever age it stopped with Gordon, something of the sort happened when he was in prison last year, thanks to the gutless Andy and Ross, hence his depression), also of course there was the harrowing accident with Jackson and all that followed that.

All the counselling in the world will never eradicate it. You might be able to control it during the day, but you still have dreams and nightmares. Also the way the NHS Mental Health Service is to day Aaron would probably get six sessions of CBT in six months time or a "Mindfulness" course (God help him ). The treatment he got for self-harming was useless, and not a word was heard from the mental health nurse (Tom?) who saw him in hospital a few weeks ago.

No excuses for Sandra. I did suspect she was going to know, since I think they are basing this story on real life historical abuse cases. There were some prominent real life cases where spouses turned a blind eye to their husband's abuse.

Me too. This is why they will never be boring to watch when they get together. I'm really enjoying seeing Roberts caring side after all his plots and stupid actions last year. So looking forward to next week.

I doubt Adam and Vic's plan will actually come to fruition, it's obviously a plot for something and I presume it'll be a case of they'll do up the van and Vic will be set on going but Adam doesn't want to in the end, or there's something stopping him (probably either baby Johnny drama or something to do with Moira/Holly). That or maybe it is happening to make way for Isobel and/or Adam to take a break in the Summer.

Either way, I do agree they should have Robert at the scrapyard full time. He's obviously doing amazing there so it seems stupid in every way for him to suddenlly stop working there, I mean why would he when he has nothing else to do and why would Adam and Aaron not want him to when he's making them all so much money right now? Other than Adam being annoyed with him being around, that is. Plus if Aaron and Robert are in the friendzone, Aaron shouldn't have much of a problem with Rob working with him.

I know that Robert obviously just wants Aaron to be back in general but i wonder if he also wants him back for another reason? Like somehow i get a sense he wants him back so he can tell him something or ask him something, like he's waiting for him to be back so he can ask him if they could give things another go or something like that. It's like he can't wait for it. You know what i mean? Obviously when he does come back he doesn't do that straight away as there is a drama immediately but from the sounds of it it's not long before the subject comes up.

I came across this quote yesterday and it sums up the MF and our AF very well:

Just because some people are fueled by drama doesn't mean you have to attend the performance. - Cheryl Richardson

So my advice is leave them to it and stay in our happy bubble!

Tbf you only need Kerry in the pub when Chas announces it and it will be round the village! There wasn't alot of people in the pub when Chrissie outed Robron's affair but Kerry was there so naturally the whole village knew!

Lots of people liking them together and wanting them to be together. All except for one person who hopes Aaron stays far away from Robert cause Robert's not good for him... haven't they been watching the last month or so?! Robert saved Aaron's life, got Aaron to confide in him about the abuse, encouraged Chas to talk to him instead of kicking him out and has constantly been there for Aaron to talk to. Not to mention all he's gonna do for Aaron next week which probably still won't change their mind on him anyway.

Then again, I wouldn't take anything they say seriously... they want Aaron to find himself a girlfriend... :o”

They better stick to HO then who are always making their gay characters straight....!!! Clearly not an Aaron or Emmerdale fan if she thinks that.....The loon!

Sorry have to stick up for the NHS here (I work in mental health there so feel obliged to!!!) - Aaron probably would have to go on a waiting list (but if he was assessed as needing urgent treatment he WOULD get it) because there is, very unfortunately, far more need for therapeutic interventions than there is the capacity to provide it BUT when he did reach the top of the list he would get the treatment he NEEDED. And in his case I don't think that would be six sessions of CBT (although CBT is a recommended, evidence-based treatment for PTSD) or mindfulness (although that might be a part of his treatment because it can be very helpful). I'd imagine he'd probably have a combination of treatments - possibly EMDR (around the rapes) alongside some kind of therapy to help him deal with the feelings this then causes, which could be CBT but think I'd probably go for ACT with him, or there's psycho-dynamic or CAT which might work well too. But it would depend what Aaron wanted/was able to do too.

Sorry as I said am probably being a bit precious but I do know there is this sense that it is almost impossible to get mental health support from the NHS and that just isn't true. In the service I work for, for example, people can be seen the next day if they need it and are sometimes then taken on straight away from that point (rather than going on to the waiting list) depending on their level of need.
