I have not subscribed to Netflix yet - still researching and have some questions I cannot seem to find the answers to....

1. How soon after DVD / Blu-ray release are films appearing on Netflix? Is it any good for people who want to seen new films?

2. Is there much HD content? Looking to stream in HD and 4K as much as possible.

That's it actually - just wondering if maybe I should instead go back to renting (by streaming, not using Blockbusters!) instead of monthly subscription. I don't watch many films really, probably a couple a month. But, that might change if I had Netflix ....

It's not quite as simple as how quick after general release do they appear as its all down to what contracts they have in place with the individual movie studios.
Some films may appear before Sky, other films may appear after Sky, some films may appear the same time as Sky, and some films may never appear at all.
There's plenty of HD content, cant say about 4K as currently it doesn't interest me at all so I choose not to take any notice of any news about it content wise.
If seeing new films quicker is what matters then I'd say Sky will pretty much always be your best option.

If you get Netflix and a DNS service (I'd wait maybe on that one) generally you'll see most films about 3-4 months before SKY, some even before getting a UK Cinema release or DVD release.

Most content is HD and most DD unlike NOW TV

Netflix is a good complimentary service to have but if you want new movies and you're only watching a couple a month, I'd say just buy what you want.

if you're an EE phone customer, or somebody in your household is, Wuaki's EE Film club is fantastic. Monday to Wednesday you can't rent a film for a pound (plus 35p for a text) . Some new releases are on there within a week of release and it definitely keeps costs down I between my other full price rentals.

Ignore the prices on the page - all of these films are a pound once you text "film" to 141 and then enter your EE code on Wuaki.

Think they've improved things since I last looked. Certainly a lot more devices using 720p for sports than before.

Sky still having an Apple love in I see, with their TV service the only one with 720p across all channels.
