What to do with a: working VCR, working DVD recorder and a working amp?

I have a Sony VCR, a Panasonic DVD recorder (minus remote control) and a Sony receiver. All work fine with the exception that the rear left channel of the Sony receiver broke but still works fine as a stereo receiver.

I am loathed to just take them down to the tip but I know charity shops won't want them. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Ebay is always an option. DVD Recorders with analogue in are pretty much impossible to buy new, so anyone wanting to do some archiving to disc is going to need to look at used gear. It's a shame about the remote though. Given the alternative of taking it to the tip then you night want to look in to getting a replacement of some type.

VCRs are a bit of a lottery on Ebay. Have a look at some completed listings to see if something along the lines of yours sells frequently and what sort of money it raises.

The broken AV receiver isn't tremendously valuable. It can still be sold as Spares or Repairs.

Depends on the charity shop - the BHF have some home & furniture stores where they will take electricals, test them and resell them .

BHF will not take TVs, and presumably PVRs without a remote control. I suspect they won't want a faulty amplifier either but no harm in giving them a ring. VCRs are close to unsellable, my local YMCA shop used to accept tapes but no longer.

My local BHF store in Colchester is full of CRT TVś and other electrical goods. I can understand why they would not want VHS tapes and equipment without remote controls.

Believe it or not my local YMCA was still accepting tapes then. I gave them quite few but they stopped taking them about 9 months ago.
