Push notifications Marshmallow

I've got a Moto G (3rd gen) and have just received the Marshmallow update.

Now I'm not getting any push notifications from twitter, BBC News etc when the phone is left idle and only get them when I pick the phone up.

I've altered the battery optimisation settings for these apps to not optimised. Is there any other setting I need to change to get notifications back ?

I think there is an issue with doze. I get the same on my 6P. Google is working on it apparently.

Probably not. I have the same phone and I've got issues of my own with MM.
