The Pallisers - Who Connections
Surprised no one has picked up on this yet, on BBC Two lunchtimes at the mo?
Seems like anyone who was anyone or became anyone appeared in this series. Of interest to Who fans, is the guy who played Borusa in The Five Doctors, a couple of future Masters(Jacobi & Ainley!) plus some notable Who guest stars, Peter 'Cleggy from Summer Wine' Sallis & June Whitfield from the End Of Time. Is there anyone I've missed? |

Did JNT look at Ainley's performance in this, when considering him for the Master in 1981?
He was really a (expletive) in this wasn't he? |

I'm a big fan of classic BBC drama, but couldn't get beyond about 3 episodes of this. I thought it was ever so dull and I never got to see Philip Latham or Anthony Ainley in action! That was a couple of years ago, and I am really surprised BBC2 is showing it a second time. So much other vintage TV they could repeat ...
Don't forget Barbara Murray or Moray Watson (accordingly to IMDB. I gave up before they appeared!) |

Did you ever manage to see The Forsythe Saga on Dvd?
What did you make if it? |

What did you make if it? Current viewing is Secret Army, and it's amazeballs. (DW connections, to keep this thread relevant! : Valentine Dyall, Clifford Rose, Christopher Neame). Gripping, thrilling, tense, life-or-death. Love it. The Pallisers was awfully ... um ... dull. We lasted just a couple of episodes. Same with Sutherland's Law (Iain Cuthbetson and Gareth Thomas from Blake's 7): two episodes was enough to get the measure of it! I wonder why The Pallisers is getting a second outing when there's so much other stuff gathering dust? |

James Bree (The War Games, Full Circle, The Ultimate Foe) Stephen Yardley (Genesis of the Daleks, Vengeance on Varos) Hilary Minster (Planet of the Daleks, Genesis of the Daleks) Paul Shelley (Four to Doomsday) Terence Hardiman (The Beast Below) |

Not Who related, but anyone finding it weird seeing Anthony Andrews & Jeremy Irons in a period drama a good 6 years before Brideshead!

http://www.imdb.com/search/name?role...5557,tt0056751 for the complete list of overlap + Derek Jacobi & June Whitfield from new Who.
JNT also worked on one episode of The Pallisers. |
