Tesco mobile
Does anyone on here use Tesco Mobile? Their prices are very good and they use the o2 network. I have just ordered a 32gb iPhone 5s for £23.50 a month which is cheap considering it is the 32gb model. You can also cap your bills and upgrade anytime of your contract. I'm hoping the reliability is good.

I've been with them for years. Very happy with the quality of service and my sim package.
I have seen the new ID (from Carphone Warehouse) sim only deals and I'm thinking of switching. |

Yes I've been with them for many many years. Very impressed, UK customer service and always seem to solve the few issues I've had. Network coverage is good and the 4g is rolling into more places all the time.

I've been with Tesco mobile for a few years, I've never had a problem. When I have had to call the helpline with a question, technical update, they knew the answer straight off the bat.
I got a deal through topcashback then have the mobile phone contract linked up to my tesco credit card (points etc) so I made about £45 back on the plan first year and I get about £5 a year (ok not much) off my phone bill when it averages out at £13 a month. but I can't use the other networks where I need to use my phone unless I stand on the pile of rocks at the end of the garden . |

I haven't heard anything lately about Tesco selling their 50% stake in Tesco Mobile, which they were considering after the Tesco accounting scandal came to light. Perhaps they've ditched the idea.

So far quite impressed. UK call centres. And I particularly like their app. You can see how many minutes, texts and data you've used and how much you have spent outside your allowance instantly all laid out so simply on the app. Better than the 3 app.

Their pay as you go tariffs are awful, value for money wise. It's true they do have some good sim only deals though.

Tesco PAYG Lite is not that bad at 8p per min/4p per text/10p per MB. The other big O2 MVNO is giffgaff at 10p/4p/20p per day. The cheapest on O2 is Fonome at 5p/5p/2p per MB.

-- Pete Forman https://payg-petef.rhcloud.com Giffgaff charge 20p a day (for up to 20MB) BUT if you go over the 20MB you'll be charged 20p per MB used. PAYG data is not cheap on Giffgaff, you really need to be a goody bag user to use data with them. |

Your Giffgaff data costs shown aren't quite right.

Tesco will charge you £1. Of course you can get cheaper if the 3 network covers you. -- Pete Forman https://payg-petef.rhcloud.com |

If you want pure PAYG then Three's 321 tariff is the way to go. |

also its making money for them selling wouldn't make a big dent off there what ever billions they owe so they decided to keep it. |

Various add-ons available on 321 as well - BUT, unlike GiffGaff, they don't make it even cheaper (but they ARE required for inclusive roaming in selected countries)
Three and delight are the only networks that do the 321. |

That is what I say, “20p / day for 20 MB then 20p / MB”. Though I don't have a big BUT

Not going to start an argument over it, but you don't mention the 20p per MB anywhere in that post. Maybe you thought it, but you forgot to write it.

I read that they are not putting the mobile side up for sale because they wouldn't make much money because they only own half as you probable no O2 owns the other half

I was with Tesco for about three years can't fault the service or customer service.
One bad experiance with a rude and arrogant CS rep when I called for my PAC. Not only was she downright rude she also didn't bother to send me my PAC. But every company has jobsworths don't they. And thankfully not a reflection of the usual level of CS. I left and joined life mobile. Same allowance as with Tesco 1500mins. Unlimited sms and 1gb data but for £6 a month instead of £10. |

Happy long term customer. Wish they did cheaper roaming though although if we stay in the EU, that'll change next year to the same rate as at home.
I also like that I can go in store if there's a problem or need to swap a SIM. |

Tesco’s PAYG add ons seem good value for money, plus you get triple credit.
