This is being billed as the last tour and with it being the 50th Anniversary of the Pet Sounds album it will be the last time the album will be played live in it's entirety and will also serve as a tour for his solo album No Pier Pressure and many deep cuts that have been rarely been played live or never played live will be played.

I'm going to the Glasgow show. Is anyone else going to a show on the tour?

It's a shame as his voice has gone, why do these people do it?

This from 2015 sounds so sad. But it's a great tune.

He'll sit out at the front more or less talking through the lyrics and the backing singers will do the rest.

But they'll make it a good show.

He does have problems. Obviously that's a whole other discussion and we can only assume he enjoys doing these shows, I know some people have said that it's better for his health for him to be active and doing things rather than being left alone and doing nothing. I don't know what is or isn't right but I hope that he is doing it because he wants to do it. I know on the last Anniversary of the album he did all the leads himself but that was 2002 and I know his voice isn't the same. He has good days and bad days and I can only hope that when I see him in Glasgow it will be one of his good days and I can see him enjoying himself.

The big catch obviously is to hear the Pet Sounds album played in it's entirety, I'm also a fan of his new solo album which was what the tour really was last year in the USA so it's nice that he will do some songs off of that and also they are promoting this tour as being him performing some deep cuts from the Beach Boys library so it's a bit of everything. The sad part is it is the last tour and I think at 73 years old he should go out in a big way and what better way than doing all 3, you celebrate the 50th Anniversary of your biggest album, you perform songs from your new solo album and you let Beach Boys fans hear some songs live that have rarely been performed live or never been performed live. In many ways it's the ideal Brian Wilson experience, you get the best of everything but you like you said his voice is shot and hopefully he can still do some of the songs live on his own or if he can do it maybe just the songs he is really proud of and let Al Jardine pick up the rest.

The VIP meet and greets are expensive at around £300. I'm hoping a local record store or HMV will maybe try get him for a signing on the day. It would be nice to shake his hand.

Well said

I decided to get tickets to see him when he comes to the Usher Hall in Edinburgh in May. I felt I needed to get in there as soon as they were available, so I could get the best seats. I'm so glad that we don't have to go all the way to Glasgow to see him perform, since we live in Fife and it is much more practical for us to just go across the Forth to Edinburgh.

We both love Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys and this will be a rare opportunity to hear the Pet Sounds album in its entirety. Like you, I also feel he will play numerous Beach Boys songs and two or three songs from his new album, No Pier Pressure. I would not be surprised if he does "One Kind of Love". I remember hearing that song over the end credits to his biopic film, Love & Mercy which I saw last year at the Edinburgh International Film Festival - the UK premiere too!

I hope you enjoy the show too. It will be a rare treat. I think he will do a lot of songs people will be surprised by. I would also like to hear Love and Mercy live. I will try and avoid reading the setlists so everything other than Pet Sounds will be a surprise although they could change the setlists everynight and vary the songs.

i went on the 40th anniversary and the band was great but brians voice was shot. it was like a beach boys tribute band with the real brian wilson who let the rest of the band down. i've been told his voice has improved since then but i'm giving it a miss this time, even if it was one of my favourite albums

i never saw the smile tour, but i'd maybe see the 50th anniversary of that if he does it like he did 10 years ago

Thanks. He might just slip in some rarely performed songs, but he will definitively perform Love & Mercy - especially when it was the title of the biopic film and there is footage of him performing the song live during the end credits!

I have read one or two of set lists from recent shows in the US - there's this website I go on, you see - so that I can get a good impression of what will be probably be done.

Usually, what happens is that set lists mostly stay the same, sometimes the order that songs are performed in can change and some songs are dropped from certain shows. I found last year when I went to see Randy Newman in Glasgow - an artist Brian Wilson admires - didn't sing Sail Away but he performed the song at numerous other shows he was doing. Same with Lionel Richie, he didn't sing Truly when he did Glastonbury last year, yet it was included in the set list of the North American leg of his "All The Hits" tour.

For those who can't get to the concert. There's always this.

I'd find it too painful to see Brian live now. I saw The beach Boys in 1979 at Wembley. Arena. Album-wise they were long past their peak, but it was great to see the original line-up on stage. Brian was zonked out through most of the gig and hardly played a note on the piano

Hope you enjoy it. Do you suppose they will be selling a programme at the shows? I'm going to see him with my brother on Thursday and I can't wait.

I think so, I've heard people online talk about it and it's the same size as a record and has pictures inside. I think it's available online in his store too. I personally wanted there to be something signed at the shows because I can't afford to go to the meet and greets and the soundchecks but having something signed by him would be great. I will get the program though as I always like programs and it's a nice memento and it is the last tour for Pet Sounds so it's a must.

Unfortunetly you will be seeing Brian Wilson in name only. In reality you will be watching a dazed and confused old man sitting on a chair talking the lyrics which he now needs to read off cards placed in front of him. Its a sad end to a once great musician.

Unfortunately he's just another old pop musician, "looking for one last pay day," ultimately destroying for many, some good memories and leaving them with a lasting one, of sad mediocrity.

I'm not too sure about that, the reviews of the gigs so far have been overwhelmingly positive. Specifically about Brian's contributions. Although I do agree that what he, Peter Green and Syd Barrett did to themselves are the three great tragedies of the sixties. Well apart from the deaths...

I was at last night's gig in Newcastle and I have to agree I thought he was superb. Yes, there were a few pitching problems, and the electric guitarist he invited on stage for only three songs thankfully, was dreadful, but overall a wonderful night. Pet Sounds still has a real power about it, God Only Knows in particular was still as good as when he wrote it. And anyone doubting Brian still has most of his faculties needs to hear his hilarious rendition of Monster Mash. 'Wasnt that funny folks?'
Wonderful.

Brian would be amazing to see live, he still has a wonderful voice. Sky were recently showing the film Love and Mercy. I thought it was handled brilliantly - the early days with his genius insights into unique ways of recording with different instruments and sounds were fascinating. The latter years were moving and heartbreaking to see how badly he was taken advantage of by the creepy and controlling Eugene Landy.
