Leeds - where to eat?

Going to Leeds for a couple of days. Any recommendations for somewhere for me and my wife to eat? Don't mind the origin, but would like somewhere a bit more upmarket/special.

Dino's is long gone sadly, it was replaced by a particularly cheap and nasty Indian restaurant.

If you don't mind paying, and like your steaks, then I'd heartily recommend the Black House.

I'm not really sure how upmarket it is, but my husband and I always go to Salvo's in Headingley when we go to Leeds. http://www.salvos.co.uk/dining-experiences/salvos/

The Man Behind the Curtain has a michelin star, you'd need a fair bit of notice to get a table. I really like Shear's Yard - lovely food, very stylish, reasonably priced. I'd second Salvo's too.

Unfortunately in this case 'a fair bit of notice' translates as the best part of a year.

Yep, I looked before christmas and for Friday and Saturday nights they were booked up right until November 2016.

I do really want to go though, it looks great.
