Even though I do quite like the coupling beginning with R and ending in N, I would have to agree with some of these posters. There is an AT for postings of this sort and I too would like to discuss other topics such as, where does Finn purchase his knitwear, how is every Tom, Dick and Harry allowed to just walk into homefarm, the fabulousness of Bernice (who was robbed BTW) and crucially why does the amount of logs by the wood-burning stove in the woolpack never change yet the fire is lit often?

Perhaps if this happened harmony would be restored......and CollieWobbles wouldn't be heading for a heart attack!”

I would have used another word beginning with 'F' but Digital Spy wouldn't allow me!

I like Robert and I don't mind Aaron but best characters? No. Just no. Lovely Bernice did very well in the game this year

Don't worry about Collie. She's used to these rants. We just chuck a cold flannel on her head and leave her till morning

I got scared after reading Collies wobble.

I had to check the front and back door locks, and leave the landing light on

Thanks for putting this all together

Personally I can't stand Robert, but eh, to each their own. Bernice was my #1 from the top 10!

I agree, Ryan's been brilliant.

Robert's my favourite too

TBH I can't remember the old Robert much so I'm not sure who is better but I'm enjoying his current portrayal, I just hope his current personality transplant doesn't last too long!

Interesting result.

Aaron gets the big major childhood rape storyline - for which he's received rave reviews all over the internet.
Meanwhile this storyline has been quietly used to redeem Robert from his evil ways - and Robert wins as most popular character.

And yet the show is adamant that this rape storyline is not about selling a gay romance storyline - I think tonight's result tells a different story!

Well done for all the work you put in Reserved

Please don't let this thread descend into THAT debate, it's getting old now.

Delighted with that result, Robert's a brilliant character. He often gets overlooked at all the awards guff, but Ryan's been marvellous.

And no, I'm not a great Aaron fan.

That kind of cheapens his win. Why do you presume he won because of Aaron or his story with Aaron? Robert's a great character in his own right.

why should it even be a surprise that robert won? didn't he win as The Best Soap Character 2015 as voted by the same (more or less) DS forumers?

I'll remember that for next year and won't be so graceful Charity's already won now so don't bother turning up for 2017's competition!

Yeah, quite a few Robert fans had Aaron last on their list, so he definitely didn't 'only' win because of Aaron, but of course Aaron still played a big part in it. Since Robert's been back, he's been constantly involved with Aaron, so I can see why some would lump them together, especially when 'Robron' is such a strong force on the forum right now.

Not sure what you mean, but last year Ross won (Robert came fourth).
Aaron won the 'Best Looking Soap Character' this year and last, if that's what you're referring to?

Ranking History (02-09-03-08-10)

Charity receives her worst ranking to date, but has made every final every year. Coming into this year, I did question how well she would do considering she's been out for pretty much the entire year... I predicted possibly Round 3 placing if she's lucky, and after a close call in Round 2, I thought that would be the case, but the fact she managed to get to the final despite a lack of presence just proves what sort of character she is. A beautiful one.

I had a massive rant ready to go at you all as 10th place is simply appalling for a character like Charity - the only place good enough for this stunning Goddess is first place every year, but I deleted it in fear of being banned Yes, I was that angry, and no, I will never forgive you ”
