Itīs definitely not a great moment for the character. I think it is a pretty sensible thing to say so I hope nobody does that to me ”

Well I'm in agreement with you but I wouldn't be surprised if someone has something to say about your comments regarding Robert.

There are people who say the previous actor was better at emotional scenes. I havenīt got an opinion on that cause I started watching in 2009-2010.

Wow. This is the worst result that could've possibly happened. Out of the 75 characters, guess where Robert ranks? I was really hoping Aaron would take it. Robert's murdered Katie, thrown his weight around and threatened so many people, and he's just absolutely vile. I hate him, I really do. People moaned about Charity getting away with murder before she got sent down last year all the time, yet never the same criticism for Robert - he's literally got away with murder. He's a character with absolutely no redeeming qualities, and I'd rather Marlon - MARLON, for goodness sake - win this over him. Chas, Aaron, Paddy... anyone! Robert is foul, always will be and I'm counting down the days until he gets shown the door.”

LMAO I donīt agree with you on Aaron and a few other characters but you made me laugh with this comment. I agree on Robert. But I think he has been getting criticism, not from his die hard fans, but yes from the rest. There are many, even Aaron fans like me, who canīt stand him now and will be waiting for him to pay.

This youtube channel has nicely chronicled Emmerdale from 2000-2010, I watched all of the videos and I feel like I know the shows history pretty well and you can see the original adult Robert for yourself

Thanks Reserved!! This was great fun and I really enjoyed getting involved!

I have to say I'm glad Robert won, he's very easy on the eye and it's great that two Sugdens were there until the end (as a viewer of 20 years). I'm just gutted that Lisa, Belle and Lachlan came so low. More for those three, less affairs (totally right about the new producer taking notice about what it's done to Zac/Paddy) and a decent storyline for Finn please. He's got so much potential!!

It's such a great soap with brilliant Characters, devilish Jai right through to Villian-with-a-heart Robert!

Just reading through all the arguments on this thread though... Mental!

I think if she hadn't been on maternity leave shed be in the top 3 easily, she's an iconic character for emmerdale!

i just saw these posts...

of course can mean shame/ embarrassment

but it can also signify gushing about someone, for robron fans, that's robert and aaron

and flushed with excitement/anticipation?

At least Aaron, Cain, Chas and Charity were top contenders too.”

your opinion... but apparently for the majority of voters his character is far from irrelevant

Just catching up on the episodes and the Aaron reveal is kicking off... How the flippin' heck did Robert win this? He really doesn't suit the nicey-nicey crap and some of the acting from him has had me cringing.

I don't know, it just all seems so fake. I'm not sure if it's the acting or the character, or a bit of both? One thing I do know, though, he shouldn't have won this competition. I dislike Aaron but at least the acting is good and he's consistent as a character - would've been a much more deserved winner.

Their attempt to redeem Robert is really poor.

I get why he won this. But yes, my reaction's the same - cringe. He can't do sincere and nice at all, it's totally unconvincing.

Think it's a bit of both - his acting of niceness isn't his strength, smirking and plotting and bickering is. And the transformation's been badly written, so there's not much he can do with it anyway.
