Poor old Hezza should be put out to grass. His comments about Scottish politics would have been correct a out thirty years ago but he has not got a clue now.
Mellor getting all excited about Ruth Davidson, the only politician I know who campaigned to be leader of the opposition!

Not heard any reference to Ken, this morning. (is he a non-person, presenter-wise?)

IMO Nick was splendid at fending off prejudiced callers with humour and aplomb.”

I know. I was putting NF's comments on the thread for those who constantly criticize him for prejudiced (right-wing) views as though he's inflexible, incapable even, of seeing the wood for the trees.

I thought Ken had been scheduled to be on-air?

What's worse is that he kept butting in and talking over the guy and asking questions. The bloke kept saying I was just trying to explain if you'll let me.

Really, really bad radio and the worst Ferrari traits of old.

NF was trying to put water on the flames. The flames that he is in a small way responsible for fanning.

Listening to NF after midnight last night was a breath of fresh air. He was talking about unity, working together, how SK winning could lead to a more unified London.

At least if gives him and his LBC chums 4 years to attack SK policies. Cristo Foufas was already trying to put the knife in at 1am....saying that SK policies were doomed to fail (apparently some affect CF financially)...

Well guess what LBC presenters you have zero power, you can scream and moan but you were not elected, your job is to report the news and discuss opinions.....

Yes, Nick does have short-comings, not denying that. In fairness so do other presenters. Overall I don't know the best way for a presenter to deal with prejudiced callers? Without having an unnecessary dig at J O'B, he would have either ridiculed or chopped-off the caller. ID on the other hand has a way of railroading negative responses by deploying tetchy, hissy fitting tactics. Do you think the latter two lack Unattractive listening value?

And his devotion to the EU. He remembers the war and the EU has stopped it happening again.

Yeah. That as well. That argument may well have been relevant in 1975 at the last ref but I want to hear about future prospects.

Those 'flames' are minor compared with the way his counter opposite, J O'B, handles conflicting callers.

Not sure what JOB has to do with this. NF fans the flames of mistrust and suspicion of all muslims with his regular airing of just about anything which portrays muslims negatively.
Today NF was confronted with the most stupid and ignorant of the haters and maybe just maybe he will catch on to the fact that he provides the haters with fuel.

Sad that so many LBC callers were expressing islamophobic views that it is necessary for Mr Ferrari to defend Mr Khan.

... Because, when you answered my post on J O'B's 'childish questions' recently you immediately put forward Nick Ferrari doing similar.
I think you underrate NF. It goes without saying he's 'old school', and his approach is little 'earthy'. The fact he's derided haters may deflate their claims rather than fuel them. A jovial approach can often put water on the flames..

The flames that earlier NF in his own small way has helped to fan.

He's Michael Heseltine, not Nostradamus.
In order to have any chance of predicting the future, we need to understand the past.
Some cultures revere and respect older members of society and value them for their experience, wisdom and objectivity.
Here, we talk about 'putting them out to grass'.

Erm.. due to my previous post on 'old school' Ferrari, are you electing he should join them?

The past is a potential guide to future - its not a prediction. Preventing WW3 in europe is one of the more ridiculous and naive reasons to maintain the status quo in the EU and has been shown in the soviet union and yugoslavia - a tightly controlled federation doesn't remove animosities , it just keeps a lid on them until they boil over suddenly and with far more violence than if the pressure had been gradually released through the loosening of ties. Also I'm afraid that while older people are familiar with the past they're also rather stuck in it and tend to get tunnel vision so they're not necessarily the best people to look to the future.

He was excellent last night, under difficult circumstances (as opposed to Cristo, who was embarrassingly dire) and fair play to Nick for continuing this morning, after a late night. He's a trooper.

An interesting point of view, Mr. B. Thank you.

Just turned on the radio to hear Bev Turner ask, "if you won the lottery this week would you be happy"? No, I'd be balling my eyes out, just inconsolable.
