Katie Hopkins when last standing in for the resident incumbent referred to him as, "the fragrant James O'Brien". She's no daft bunny, I think she's got the measure of him.

After what I have just heard can I stick with the sensory perception theme and nominate Nick Ferrari and Katie Hopkins as the most odious Tag Team in Broadcasting.

Whereas, IMO, they are two of the more interesting broadcasters on LBC

Nick is tried & tested and I enjoy Katie's radio persona, due to her ability to be courteous to all callers.

I am not sure her style is conducive to late night listening . I stayed awake throughout her entire show, last night.

As said, I am sorry for Nick A losing his cover slot.

I am tuned in to LBC, most of the time. Muslim topics are discussed by all the presenters...not just NF.

Isn't it because the subjects are considered newsworthy

They are currently my two LBC favourites. I'd start listening in the afternoons again if Katie was given that slot. Sadly I don't think she'd become a weekday regular because she lives in Exeter.

I listened to Katie H last evening and, it really grieves me to say this, I enjoyed listening to her as she wasn't what I was expecting. Very pleasantly surprised though her delivery is left wanting but she's still new to talk show hosting so, hopefully, she'll improve. Where was the evil, loud mouthed, opinionated and controversial female that I'd known as Katie Hopkins? Was I listening to a doppelganger?

Yes KH does seem reasonable. You don't have to agree with everything she says, but what she does say comes over as reasonable and friendly. She doesn't talk over people that she disagrees with or cut them off. Last night she said she prefers callers that disagree with her as it makes more interesting listening.

Welcome to the 'Good heavens, she's not nearly as awful as I'd been led to believe' club. A few of the male presenters - especially that one who was really nasty about her before she joined the station - could take lessons from her in listening to other people's point of view without sneering or cutting them off.

JOB cuts off anyone who disagrees with him and is rude. Well that is the perceived wisdom but the fact is that he has just given caller Dan a good ten minutes to make and explain his points.
OK Dan was floundering when asked a few pertinent questions about the views he held. Good radio.

Next caller Gary phones in to tell us why he is concerned about other cultures being imposed on him. Asked what was being imposed he had nothing but ramblings about Christmas lights.
Again, no cutting off callers.

IMO the message is much more important than the messenger. I do realize that this is a minority view on this thread.

Not a member, just can't get past the horrid things she has said on twitter. If anything my already poor opinion of her goes down when I listen to her simpering on the phone-in shows she covers, does not have the courage of her convictions IMO. As I said before, I'm not on Twitter so was unaware of KH other than the highly critical comments on here. I must admit though that she makes me laugh and I find her manner with callers to be courteous and genuinely interested. Perhaps you are all correct that this is not her 'normal' persona and it's all an act, but I can only speak as I find.

Minority or not, the expression and discussion of opposing views is important to a worthwhile forum such as this. I recently had a look at "another" radio forum where the handful of posters appear to constantly agree with each other. What they get out of that I cannot imagine.

I thought he was never going to stop talking this morning. After what felt like 10-15 minutes with no callers I turned over to Julia H B on Talk.
