I heard the interview with Jones and although I agree Nick wasn't in the mood to let her babble, he certainly wasn't rude to her. The Baroness made a number of assertions which Nick challenged fairly and she was floundering. Nick made some very good points for Brexit in that interview as well. I don't always agree with Nick's opinions but I totally respect them and one of the main reasons I love his show so much is because Nick isn't afraid to say what he thinks and give his opinion which is often what most people are thinking anyway (the Afghan translator issue for instance, or the Greenpeace protesters blockading the Heathrow tunnel), and Nick's opinions always the stage for a good debate.
The issue of whether Nick's opinions are the same as that of most of the public can be debated but I think Nick does a good job representing the people, asking the questions we want asked and expressing well-considered opinions which many of us agree with.

OK Dan was floundering when asked a few pertinent questions about the views he held. Good radio.”
Sorry but I don't remember anyone saying that James O'Brien cuts off EVERY caller who disagrees with him but many people believe he gives very short shrift to people with reasoned arguments who disagree with him. Because James rarely has guests or correspondents on the line unlike Nick and is used to only dealing with callers whom he can be far more impolite to, I think maybe James has gone a bit power mad after 12 years at the controls and now often seems to cut off callers who have legitimate objections.

That made me laugh out loud! That's exactly what he sounds like!
