Nick has got Farage v. Umuna on next. Could be fun!

Drat! They're on separately.

Farage avoiding the question bout the UK still having to pay what we do now for EU trade.

Thanks for the heads up, g-s. Should be interesting, as I've not noticed much sense of humour from ex-LBC presenter JH-B so far, but plenty of outrage (faux or not). By the way, Paul Merton seems to have been coasting for a long time on this show, with a noticeable lack of spark compared to how he used to be.

Farage treading on very thin ice with his remarks about Mark Carney.

He's probably been watching his boxed set of On the Buses again.

Morning all.
Steve's box sets must be sepia coloured by now.

Shall be watching. Agree about Merton, rarely gets out of second gear but still entertains me. Easily pleased I am

You're lucky to have been away! A handful of us 'old guard' struggle on, hoping to have a laugh, any attempt at humour being met with boot-faced silence or reminders to stay on topic. I'm tempted to go over to the talkRADIO thread and slag off Iain Lee, just like the old days on here. That was always good for a laugh.
I do rather miss the days when we could all have a snigger at ads about importing sausages.......mind you some of the newer ones can hold their own.

Tell you something. Cannot wait for the referendum to be done, no matter the result.
When we have Brexit The Movie then things have gone very surreal.
BTW did you see JOB on Newsnight sporting a rather smarts it?
Not sure what you mean by a "rather smart it", but what does he do with his hair, is it Brylcreme or something more unpleasant.

Ah what can I do Cayce? Get pelters for the serious stuff and now my wee sausage gag has gone down like an old lady on a frosty morning
Will be a LBC free weekend for me so will be safe to come out and play!

This is an important story and is rightly being covered. It would be the same if Cameron had lied about anyone under the protection of parliamentary privellege. Not every story about Muslims is newsworthy.
You are right that David Cameron making serious false allegations against anyone should be covered, but the issue was especially important because of the Muslim aspect to it. Many people have long suspected that David Cameron is a closet racist, and occasionally he has a slip and we see what the real Cameron is like. Nick covered the story in a fair manner as he does all stories. For people to criticise him for covering Muslim stories when Muslims are leading the news agenda is strange in my opinion as the Breakfast show is meant to be a news-based and topical show so to suggest that Nick shouldn't cover news stories falling into a certain category (Muslims-based) amounts to requesting censorship in my opinion.

The guy is a dinosaur from the 1980s.....making products that consume less power are the future for everyone. LED bulbs, new style kettles that boil less water, Gtech vacuum cleaner which can be powered by rechargeable batteries......

He is entertaining in an idiotic way, this is the man who wrote fluff about pop stars for years... now he's a mouthpiece on a radio station....
What a load of tripe. Ferrari certainly isn't "a dinosaur", particularly as he presents a daily news show which requires him to be knowledgeable on almost all aspects of current events and developments. He also uses Twitter, a very recent technological phenomenon. To suggest he is "a dinosaur" is as ridiculous as it is untrue.

Ferrari is entertaining at times in his show, but that is because of his excellent sense of humour, quick wit, his funny opinionated asides and some of the stingers of questions and responses he gives callers and guests.

He didn't "write fluff for years". He was the sub-editor of The Sun for most of the time he was working at the paper and although he did write for The Sun's infamous Bizarre column for a while, that doesn't make him a bad person of have any bearing or relevance to his broadcasting abilities.

Ferrari is not "a mouthpiece". He says what he thinks and admits when he is wrong. If you want mouthpieces, perhaps you'd better try a different station because you're certainly not getting one on LBC from 7am-10am. You're getting a stand up man with honest opinions who stands by what he says but also isn't afraid to alter his views if convinced to.

I find your suggestion that he "talks fluff" very ironic and hypocritical considering many of your own posts.

And yet NF claimed for almost an hour, it wasn't as severe as a Labour MP and Labour councillors criticising the state of Israel..........

Now imagine if this was Jeremy Corbyn saying what Cameron said and Michael Fabricant making anti Israel comments....NF would foam at the mouth....
Over 20 Labour councillors were suspended for anti-Semitic remarks. We should give the PM and Fallon the benefit of the doubt and say they were mistaken about the Imam based on what they had been told by advisors (although obviously there are theories about racial prejudices).

20 Labour councillors being suspended is not a misunderstanding. That's a serious problem. Plus, Jeremy Corbyn has felt the need to launch a full investigation, which I think itself highlights the deep-rooted prejudices within the Labour party which are gradually being outed.

I think Nick was right here, whilst I think the PM is a disgrace for describing the Imam in that way, the anti-Semitism issue is far more widespread across Labour and also potentially far more electorally damaging.

Still no reference to Ken L this morning. I wonder if he will be back after the EU Referendum. His name and details are still on the website, where I found ....

Friday 20th November 2015

It's been an eventful week for Ken Livingstone and tomorrow morning you can hear his side of the story in full at 10am on LBC.

Anyone remember what he said / did at that time?

I don't know about Ken, but I think David Mellor has sailed very close to the wind in terms of impartiality during purdah this morning.

Also, callers seem to be getting even less airtime than usual. One poor woman was interrupted with a 'joke' after approximately 4 words, and never did get to make her actual point. DM and MC just talked and talked, before 'having to move on'!

So therefore it suggests that Ken is not being kept off air for that reason.

If LBC has any sense they will have put Ken on gardening leave. Perhaps he'll have time to reflect on the various connotations of 'pond life' in the meantime, with a bit of luck, while tending to his squirming newts.

when andrew castle was sacked the first time, i thought lbc was wrong, but now after listening to his return i think that man who fired him was right. andrew castle is very boring and if i may say so he does not come across the airwaves as an intelligent man. rather the opposite in fact. he fumbles his way through the show he presents, buttering callers and guests up not end. he is actually useless a very lucky to have that job but i dont think he will have it by the end of the year. he is so boring i switched him off. will not listen again to him.
