Whenever the voiceover man announces the jingle I've started to hear "Leaving Britain's Conversation" ! Maybe I've had my fill of Referendum news!!

I don't think it has been mentioned on here yet, but Iain Dale and Shelagh Fogarty will be presenting a referendum results night special, with Ferrari picking up at 5am.

Are they counting through the night, or are they starting in the morning, like with the London mayoral elections?

Yes, starting at 10pm like the General Election.

Total deniel. I'm surprised Iain Dale managed to keep his cool and didn't shout at him. The man's a menace.”

I had to wipe the grease off my radio afterwards.

Final result is predicted to be between 3 and 4 am Friday 24th.

… and whichever way the vote goes, I don't believe much will change at all.
It's all been an embarrassing much ado about nothing; a long, drawn-out and confusing web of deceit, an extended field day for the media (not least LBC Radio), a charade of unseemly political manoeuvring, outright lies, false speculation and, at best, half truths.

Like a General Election then.

I was thinking about that, LD, including how drawn-out the US elections are, but I honestly think those two elections have far more impact, both nationally and globally. I'm very open to be persuaded otherwise, though!

I usually enjoy Ian Collins' show but he completely lost it tonight with a caller called Marie.
He constantly talked over her so that we couldn't hear either of them. Very unprofessional.

I've never thought much of him, VQ. Admittedly, he's glib, but full of himself with no good reason. A familiar trait!

IMO 2016 will not be treated kindly by history when the EU and US Presidential campaigns are looked at. Both have been dreadful and an insult to the intellegence of most folk.
As you say not much will change whatever happens, JOB will sigh and go on a bit, Ferrari will still mutter and go for the dog whistle and I shall carry on regardless.

I've never taken to Collins either. I don't know whether it's his degree of fighting talk but I always envisage him standing up in the LBC studio with his sleeves rolled up!

Listened to the last 10 mins of his show today and he had some garage owner called "steve" talking absolute cobblers about engines and emissions. Apparently torque is "potential energy". No, it isn't. And the ozone layer was depleted by CO2s (plural). No, it wasn't. Yet Ferrari said nothing, clearly having no idea himself.

It does worry me how many people in the political sphere both left and right and the commentators surrounding them who are utterly clueless about the science and technology which run our lives these days.

Ferrari full of himself today, he was unbearably rude to a guest earlier in the show. He employs his wheezy chortle inappropriately and I have turned him off,

I am never able to take anything that Keith Vaz says seriously !! Mainly because of his expenses claims & his predilection for silk cushions, at the tax payer's expense....

This morning, IMO, NF handled the racist accusations against Farage, during The Debate, yesterday - in a very fair manner.

Happy Wednesday to you All x

Was that the race relations woman who was also in deniel of the cologne sex attacks like Vaz was yesterday? He was quite blunt with her to the point of being rude I would say. A different approach to Iain Dale yesterday who appeared to be holding back his wrath

He often used to do that with callers on his Saturday night shows VQ. I'm very weary of him now.

Have just heard the clip that SA asked Ray Liotta to do for JOB. Wow. I love that.

I don't know anything about Steve Allen and have barely even heard him broadcast, but what a lovely thing to do for another presenter.
Or....maybe I am a bit surprised after forming an impression of SA from forum posts.

The Keith Vaz appearance on Iain Dale was interesting. KV dropped his super diplomatic demeanour for a few moments.
I thought his points were valid. From memory they were something like this:
Does Nigel Farage think that Keith Vaz is a threat to British women?
Could Nigel Farage say what % of men born in Goa are a threat to British women?

Over to you Nigel.

There will probably be a bottle of Prosecco in the post for you and he will be referring to you as 'his friend'.

I agree. Many newspapers have dumped their science reporters, too, thus we end up getting unchecked press released reported as fact more and more on quite serious scientific and medical issues. This can be borderline dangerous, depending on the topic, and need I remind anyone of the MMR debacle with Jeni Barnett all those years ago.
